LINCOLN. So I Hear Congratulations, Mary. Your team deserved to win. They really looked like the No. 1 team. Glad to see Roger Ludwig and Mark Bentz listed as the Chicago Tribune's choice for Golden Helmets in the North Suburban league. They will be attending a banquet next week to receive those coveted awards. Sometimes we think of something bright to write about, but fail to make a note of it and memory does strange tricks. And, sometimes we do make a memo on a slip of paper, then forget where we put the slip. It is nice to read that McHenry will have a new hospital and health center. Many McHenry people have worked hard to get the present hospital and to keep it ex panding. They want a "McHenry Hospital" - ready and willing to serve the entire area. There was a time in McHenry when the sound of a police or fire siren was rare^/frow it seems they are blasoirg daily. Those fellows on the Rescue Squad must have to sleep with their boots on. Illinois State University lists Doug Sund, McHenry, as one of the freshmen in the 142 pound class on the wrestling roster. Hang in there, Doug! Fred Meyer greeted us Wednesday morning with, "You won't have to keep that appointment with Claude Baseley at 9 o'clock this morning. Claude has just died." It gave us a funny feeling, to say the least. Life is so uncertain. Claude's personality won him a host of friends. He left too soon. No doubt about it, the American Indians haven't been treated fairly. But, now comes a group of Indians to take over and wreck a government building. To get PAIN but no pin and John Morreale keeps alive the Warrior spirit of not being pinned. John lost the match, but he fought the highly rat&d Dave Clauson of Harrington, and he fought hard and prevented being pinned. The ref takes |a close look as John strains to keep a shoulder off the mat, and at right, Coach Paul Palmateer and teatymates seem to feel pain John absorbed in preventing the pin. Thus far this season, NO WARRIOR HAS BEEN PINNED. (STAFF PHOTOS-WAYNE GAYLORD) them to leave, one government department paid them $66,650 travel expenses to go home. They should have called out the Cowboys Politics may or may not create strange bedfellows - but it does create a lot of bunk. We save for rainy days - only tot find they come during our vacation. i SPORTS FANS!. 1 BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW Brought To You By John Jepsen I I What are the odds that | 2 football teams meeting I I 2 straight years would see I | those 2 games end with • • the same team winning by • • the same score and with I I the same man scoring the | same number of winning i points in both games?..Djd I you know this once hap- I pened to Army and Navy | ...Navy beat Army in 1910 | and again in 1911... _ The score of each game I was Navy 3, Army 0 .. We'll try it again Friday night when the Dundee Car- dunals come to town. A victory this week could get the team off to a good start. \
