WE WOULD HAVE IT! 12-6-8-13-15/72 CHRISTMAS And it came to pass, that Mary was giving birth to a boy, named Jesus... He was to become the Savior of our earth. Jesus, the only son of God, became a man, to fulfill here on earth... his father...God's plan. Because we walked in darkness since creation thousands of years had passed where prayers were being said.... and God found pity, so he sent his son to bring Christianity to all the nations... His mission on earth was hard and painful; he felt the burden of being hunted and poor already as a small child... Humanity treated him so shameful.... An order from Caesar Augustus was going out from hand to hand that everyone was to register, Each in his own, father's land. And Joseph took Mary, his espoused wife; They wandered from Nazareth to Bethlehem, she was carrying "a child". As the sun was going slowly down they both entered together the Bethlehem town... The streets were filled with common people and dirty children were still playing... Joseph, tired and hungry, walked here along with Mary, her hands folded, she was praying. Then Jose {A stopped and walked toward a door, he knocked and asked for a place... "We have no more room in our house", and the owner slammed the door in his face... Again he walked along this dusty road and stopped and asked for a room for tonight. "Go away, don't bother me, we are all full", a man said to him, standing in a lantern light. So Joseph walked back to Mary and tlie donkey "I can't find a place for you tonight... There is no room in this town of Bethlehem where you can rest in comfort this night." Just one more time he walks across the street to knock again on an old wooden door... "I am sorry, I have to find a place". "I can lend you my stable, you can sleep there cm the floor.' So the prophecy came true, the son of God, was born in a stable, to make us free from sin, me and you. Mary laid him in an empty manger in the presence of a cow and a donkey and Joseph, she called Jesus, our Savior. And there were shepherds watching their sheep in a field near by... they were suddenly blinded from a great shining light, which appeared above in the sky. Don't be afraid, go and walk to a stable, a star will shine bright and guide your way, in a manger you will find a child... the son of God, laying there on hay... And they walked and entered the stable and found what the angels had said... They fell on their knees and mumbled a prayer and felt how their eyes got wet... They looked at the child so tender and fine and felt suddenly...God's presence in this stable, shine... We can bring you no presents for we are poor like you. All we can offer you is our heart filled with love, just for you... And the child smiled and stretched out his hand; He had brought God and Man,'together... And Mary watched in silence... she did understand... Angels altered the stable and soon it was filled with a warm and shining light. They began to sing, that Christ is born in this stable here, tonight. He came to earth to bring God... Christianity to all the nations. He opened heaven again for us so that we can find salvation... Christ was born two-thousand years ago and each year we celebrate his birth.. but still we have hatred and war around us and still just hope for peace, on earth... Maybe if we all would become as humble like the shepherds... and walk together to the stable and offer our hearts... And again the child would reach ^out blessing each one and all the nation... then we will all have found peace and at last true salvation... The merriest time of all the year, When hearts abound with warmth and love As we honor again God's gift from above. We deck our homes with wreaths and holly, And await the coming of Santa Claus jolly. Happy children with ruddy faces aglow Sing carols sweet in the sparkling snow. We greet our friends, both far and near With missives bright and words of cheer. Our hearths burn bright and candles glow , To welcome the Babe and our homage show. Our greatest joy is in sharing and giving Which mellows the soul, makes life worth living. If our heart's best love is for Him we hold dear We truly will have a blessed New Year. Ethel L. Hintz CHRISTMAS MEDITATION The Christmas season is lovely With its mistletoe, holly and pine, Its gift-giving and friendly greetings, Its love and good-will life refine. Carollers sing 'neath the windows In voices lusty and sweet. Cares vanish and worry ceases. Despair and sadness retreat. Even nature adds to the picture A blanket of ermine rare. Sleigh bells and shouts of laughter Echo through the frosty air. It's delightful to be remembered By friends we love and treasure. It makes the holiday brighter, Warms our hearts with joy and pleasure. Dear God, help mankind to learn, To live each day of the year, With Christmas love in the heart, Thus vanquish doubt and fear.
