The "Show Girls", wrestling cheerleaders, served the breakfast to the friendly crowd of non-calorie-counters. We thought those "Show Girls" were especially nice young ladies. Larry Lund and Wayne Gaylord were guests. Gaylord would get up at four o'clock for ham and eggs. It would be nice if Santa could bring a victory or two for our McHenry County College basketball team. We admire the Scots for turning in well-written reports - - win or lose. Sophs Lose To Dundee 53-52 In Thriller By Dick Rabbitt Coach Gary Collins sophomore basketball team lost a thriller to DundeiFriday nite. The score was 53 to 52. Unable to contain 6'5" Kiffer in the closing seconds proved the Warrior's downfall. The big Dundee center scored the winning basket with 11 seconds remaining in the game. Once again the Warriors had to come from behind, and led with 20 seconds remaining before Kiffer's basket. His hometown is Effingham, 111. *Ken attended Eastern Illinois university, and has a Master's degree from that university. While at Eastern he lettered four years in basketball and baseball. He was all conference basketball his junior and senior years. He was also named M.V.P. his senior year. He played on three conference championship teams in basketball and one in baseball. He was freshman football and basketball coach at Kankakee high school for two years. He spent eight years as head basketball, golf, and assistant football coach at Newton high school. While at Newton his teams won two conference championships, and two con­ ference tournaments. Newton also won the Effingham Holiday Tournament once. At McHenry his teams have won two Lake Zurich Thanksgiving tournaments, the first Regional tournament in the school's history. The sixth annual Harvard 16 team invitational wrestling meet will be held on Friday, Dec. 22 and Saturday, Dec. 23. This is one of the better wrestling tournaments in Northern Illinois.The Warriors are looking forward to this meet. The competition is good, the pressure is on the boys, and it helps them to prepare for the state and conference meets later in the season. So wrestling fans, if you want to see some good matches, make plans for the twenty-second and twenty- third at the Harvard high school. This will be a tough one, as the "Cats" are undefeated in conference play. On Saturday the Warriors have another tough game as they travel to Antioch. As usual, in these pair of games they will be giving away a lot of height. If they hustle and shoot like they did in the second half against Dundee, they can come away with a pair of victories. The winning basket was scored as the horn sounded ending the game. With 5 seconds remaining, Schaumburg got the ball to their 6'5" center Schimbke and he actually threw in a 25 footer. Stine and Meyer led the locals in scoring with 9 points each. Marian Sophs lost to Deer- field in the opener 69-37.
