The Illinois State's Attorneys association, made up of the Illinois state's attorneys of each of the 102 Counties in Illinois, holds its annual con ference in December each year to conduct its formal business sessions, elect its officers, and consider legal topics of current import relative to both the criminal and civil aspects of the state's attorneys office. This year, Governor-Elect Daniel Walker welcomed the prosecutors and their families at the opening breakfast and State Supreme Court Justice Daniel P. Ward addressed the attendants at their main lun cheon. Presentations were made on the new Code of Corrections which will soon govern all sentencing and post-trial procedures in Illinois; the recently kneeled Implied Consent Law and its affect on drunken driving cases; the handling of tax objection matters; and the function and administration of the small prosecutors office.
