J Guests Join SC Club In Christmas Dinner The annual Christmas dinner and party of the McHenry Senior Citizens club is now just a memory but a pleasant one. The hall was beautifully decorated, and the tables were gay°with their brightly colored table favors created by the Social Chairman's committee. The meal was superb, and very efficiently served. The Mayor said he continues to be amazed at the growth of the club, its activities, and the general enthusiasm of the membership, and brought greetings from the city of McHenry. Committee reports were very short; however, the group was amazed when Alice Wilke gava a summary of the items made3 by the sewing groups this past year. DEAREST FRIEND I don't know how to tell you It has been such a year Filled with sorrow and sickness Now Christmas time is here. We didn't even have a Spring . And no Summer at all Now with all those rains and floods We even passed up Fall. • The ice and snow of Winter Have already taken their grip And the slow way back to health Needs a stiff upper lip. Just pause a bit on Memory Lane Remember the good old days Try harder, for all who love you Are pulling for you always. WHAT DID YOU DO WITH JESUS THIS YEAR? What did you do with Jesus this year? Did you visit the ill and calm their fears? Did you lift someone who had a spill? Did you clean a hurt, wipe a tear? What did you do with Jesus this year? Did you visit someone in jail full of despair? Tell him the good news, Jesus is here. Or did you turn your back and say that's not for me? I did not rob or kill, it was he! Did you listen to someone who had problems and fears? Tell me what did you do with Jesus this year? Did you clothe the cold? Help someone who was feeble and old? Or feed the poor with a heart full of cheer? What did you do with Jesus this year? Tell me did you Jove your neighbor as your own? Visit someone who was all alone? Take care of a child who was lost? Do something for someone that really cost? Do you see things pretty clear through all those tears? What did you do with Jesus this year? Have you brought someone to the cross? A child, a drunk, a student, your boss? Have you prayed for someone who may be lost? Don't despair he really hears. What did you do with Jesus this year? If you have done all these things don't feel proud. Look, look over there you're in that crowd Who hung Him on that cross of shame Yes we are all to blame. Look up, look up, He is forgiving us Though what we did was unjust He came down to wipe our tears That's what we did with Jesus this year. by Mrs. Roberta E. WiP «s Church Group Enjoys Party At Ulick Home A Christmas gathering of folks from the Calvary Assembly of God church, Crystal Lake, was held at a lovely picturesque villa in Pistakee Bay prior to Christ mas. The group, including several couples from this community, traveled through a heavy snowfall, became lost several times, were stuck and finally pushed out by some friendly folks. They arrived to find trees blinking with sparkling lights in all colors. A warm welcome greeted them as they stepped out of the cold at the Walter Ulick home, which is at the point in Pistakee Bay. The ground was covered with snow and the lights of snowmobiles were in the distance. The guests described it as a winter wonderland. Inside, two fireplaces bur ned. There were three pianos, one a huge antique with car vings of another era. An organ provided background music throughout the evening. Following a dinner of chicken, beef and ham, whipped cream cake, hot coffee and punch, a guest (a pilot) showed movies. One was of a 1909 model air plane doing stunts with Snoopy out on the wing wrapped in his bright red scarf. Then, by contrast, he showed the new model of the 747 plane. The passengers were com fortably seated, eating some very appetizing food, and watching, movies for en tertainment. Games were played, by the church group which provided an hilarious time. The carol singing indicated a warm feeling for the season at hand. DIVORCES Cecelia DeWerdt from Raymond L. DeWerdt, Wonder Lake. Elisabeth G.
