The nursing mother, especially in the early weeks, needs all the support that she can get. The husband and father of her child is the most important support that she has. It is with this in mind that La Leche League of Crystal Lake has devoted its next series of four monthly meetings to both husbands and wives. Pregnant women and nursing mothers, along with their husbands, are welcome to attend. The meetings will be held at 8 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month, starting Jan. 30. Curtain time is 8 p.m. Miss Walker has appeared throughout the nation on stage, radio and television. She conducts lectures on the phenomena of Hypnotism and is well experienced in the field of teaching, both Self-Hypnosis and Hetero-Hypnosis, and the therapeutic uses of this science. She teaches and has taught many doctors, dentists, clergymen and psychologists as well as people from all walks of life the art and application of Hypnotism for their own particular needs or desires. Volunteer subjects from the audience will be used by Miss Walker in her demonstration. Not only will the demonstration be educational, but it will be interesting and highly en tertaining as well. Snith Infant Is Christened The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Smith was christened Theresa Marie by Rev. Edmund Petit at St. Patrick's church. Students In Community On S1U Honor Roll Approximately 16 per cent of Southern Illinois university- C>rbondale's undergraduate students have been cited for academic achievement during the 1972 fall quarter. Whereas the first play deals in an actor-producer relationship, the second play, "The Footsteps of Doves", deals with a husband-wife situation as they stand on the brink of change in their marriage relationship. The setting is a bedding store where the couple is assisted by a salesman; and also where the husband meets a young divorcee who gives him a whole new perspective. Featured in the role of George Porter, the recalcitrant husband, is Jerry Collins, Woodstock, drawing upon 20 years of community theater experience in and around the Chicago area. However, all are asked to at tend the Executive committee meeting Monday, Feb. 5, at 1 o'clock at Landmark school. In spite of wet weather, 149 members attended the Monday evening installation. President Allen opened the meeting on a happy note, ad vising that he and Mrs. Allen had become grandparents of a lovely baby girl Saturday, Jan. 20. Sylvia and Roland Grayson are also very proud as they are also grandparents of this lovely child. The next announcement was a very sad one--the death of the club's past-president, Lester Baker, on the twentieth. Since serving as president, Mr. Baker had been serving as "greeter" at the meetings. Bowling chairman, Frank Giel, invited members,to come out to the bowling sessions. There is room on the Tuesday morning, Tuesday afternoon and Friday afternoon groups. Giel urges members to enjoy themselves even if they are not "good" bowlers. For further information on bowling, con tact him. In making her report, Lyda Radisch advised the ladies that if they haven't been contacted for a cake recently and would like to bring one, give her their names. Alice Wilke advised that Sewing Group 1 will meet Feb. 1 at the home of Helen Allen, 115 S. Emerald drive, Sewing Group 2 will meet at the home of Claudia Mundy, 5404 Amby lane. Mrs. Wilke also announced that the program for the Feb. 12 meeting will be given by Jean Bonnell, professionally known as "The Genie" - mystic en tertainment in the exciting world of astrology, palmistry, and ESP. After the installation ceremony was completed, the membership enjoyed a games party with prizes awarded the winners at each table, followed by the usual refreshments of cake and coffee. Everyone is urged to make reservations for the bus trips to the Loop the second Wednesday of each month. These bus trips fill up very rapidly. Also, there are reservations for the bus trip to Lake Lawn, Delavan, Wis., Feb. 28; the Shrine Circus March 21 and another date to keep in mind is April 9, the spring smorgasbord. Roland Grayson, tour chairman, has plans in mind for many trips.
