President McCracken complimented the A listenin' t' a service, on me radio, this Sunday mornin', put me mind t' dwellin' on the subject o' brotherhood, an' I been a chewin' at it, mentally e'er since. Long ago, this^wuz th' only place, where folks could start a "New World", so they braved all kind o' hardships, 0' which we can't conceive, in order t' build a new society, where all men might live in freedom from oppression, wi' the freedom t' live and worship in the way they may desire. A natural concern, ye may call it brotherly love, fer each other, made it possible fer 'em t' survive, 'cause each depended on t'other, an' it wuz important t' put likes an' dislikes aside, in order t' exist. These folks worshipped God, an' the first thing they did, wuz t' give thanks t' Him, fer a bringin' 'em safely t' the new land. I wuz a wonderin' if the minister I heard, e'er talked about, 'r e'en thought about the possibility that this New World, populated wi' only a few natural natives, may ha' been designed fer th' purpose 0' bringing' all human races t' gether, in common brotherhood. Seems too bad that fear started men on the wrong ladies on their culinary prowess and thanked the hosts and hostesses. Esther Sims' devotions were excellent from Modern Parables entitled "Dangerous Wedge" and "Can I Be Sure"? A thank-you note was received from Valley-Hi Nursing home for the many lovely birthday gifts for the residents. Bill Jordan delivered many of the gifts. Van Kennedy gave a very interesting program, talking about the purchase, care and maintenance of modern ap pliances. The group was very happy to welcome new member, Louise Forbes, to the Friendship club. CHARLENE SUSAN REID TELL WEDDING PLANS - Mr. and Mrs. Edwin F. Reid of 3711 W. Then lust fer ownership o' land drove peace lovin' folks inter war, an' they found 'emselves em broiled in turmoil 0' strife, an' unhappiness ne'er anticipated. Lust an' greed deprived folks 0' normal livin', an' destroyed th' feelin' o' lovin' brotherhood fer all feller-men. Little by little, o'er the years, mankind 's become oppressed in different ways, beleagued wi' all manner 0' things t' upset a pattern o' happy existence, fer the short duration 0' his life on this lovely planet. , Somehow, it jist don't seem right, When all's said an' done, an' all th' things 've been ac complished, in experimentin' wi' th' things belongin' t' the Great, Creator, when we've worked out our lifetime t' put money inter things we don't really care about, when we've run out o' th' ability t' dig up somethin't' make a feller feel he has t' slave away his lifetime, t' pay the bills, all that'll be left, worthwhile, 's a kind word, a smile, a little love, an' companionship t' be had, in true brotherhood.
