PAGE 8-PLAINDEALER-FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 1973 ISPB Explains , Various Uses ' Of Sunglasses Sunglasses should always be made from plastic, tempered, or shatterproof glass with nonflammable plastic frames for safety, according to the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness. Medium grades of density should be chosen and ex cessively dark or lightly tinted lenses avoided. Many do not realize that sunglasses can be ground to prescription for those who wear corrective lenses. Never wear sunglasses as a protection against sunlamps, at dusk or night, especially when driving a car or indoors, unless prescribed by an eye doctor. Glamorous, highly styled frames give sunglasses great appeal and many people wear them as an additional at traction to their costume. The majority of people, however, wear them to reduce physical discomfort from the glare of the sun. People vary in their sen sitivity to light and some find a greater need for wearing sunglasses than others. The Chief purpose for wearing them is to reduce physical discom fort. Wedding bells, door bells, dinner bells, school bells, sleigh bells ... all speak of a country where freedom from tyranny exists. Chimes also keynote freedom of speech as commentators broadcast the news. Typewriter bells ring out freedom of the press. And church bells, whether they be the musical chimes from a cathedral's spire, or the ding dong from the steeple of a village chapel, typify freedom of religion. Churches throughout the land are open to all. Inside their doors, we cast aside worry that shackles our hearts in this atomic age. We find strength and courage to face the unknown future. Our faith, hope and trust in God, who says, "Fear not; for I am with thee," is renewed and peace fills our anxious souls. Let ut accept the invitation of the bells to "Come and worship," and go to church regularly. Scripture by th.
