The caravan left for Mexico from McAllen, Texas, and eight cities were visited by the group, plus many rural areas. Some of the cities visited were Monterey, Zacatica, Guadalajara, Mexico City and Acapulco. Mexico City has a population of 11,000,000 people, numerous historical sights, and beautiful houses of worship. The facilities of Mexican cities are clean and well kept and the people are gracious; visitors are most velcome. The children, especially, are well mannered and clean, even though many problems among apparently healthy adults. Robert A. They are generally a happy people and very in dustrious, working long hours each day. Many of the streets in the smaller towns are cob blestone which does not make for smooth traveling. There is a large automobile factory in Pueblo. Onyx jewelry is also manufactured in Mexico and the workmanship is of a very high quality. All in all, our neighboring country to the south is a most interesting and beautiful place to visit. GARDEN TIME It's time to get the gardens and lawns in shape. Now's the time to rake those leaves and fertilize the grass, spade and feed flower beds - uncover those rose bushes - also tree- planting time. Did you know - three dollars worth of seeds can produce a hundred dollars worth of fine eating - plus the joy of accomplishment. The generally poor quality of produce - to say nothing of the high cost - makes planting a vegetable garden a profitable venture - it is also a great ex perience for children.
