PAGE 16-PLAIM5EALER-FRIDAY, MARCH 30, 1973 Spring Grove Eva Freund 675-2135 Woman's Club Entertained At Condon Home Twenty-four members of the Lotus Country Woman's Club and one guest were entertained in the home of Mrs. Stella Condon in Richmond on Wednesday afternoon. A delicious luncheon was served at noon. Meeting was opened by President Pauline Horak with a salute to tiie flag and the reading of the collect by the members. Minutes of the last meeting were read and the treasurer's report was given. Mrs. Linnea Peterson, a guest was introduced. Corresponding secretary read invitations and announcements. The club is invited to reciprocity night with Wonder Lake Woman's Club as hostesses. This will be held at Nativity Lutheran Church on April 19 at 8. On April 11 the county meeting of the McHenry Co. Federation of Women's Club will be held at the American Legion Hall. Richmond. Meeting will begin at 9:30 There will be a lunch at noon. Notify Mrs. Ronald Jackson for reservations before April 6, phone 6*78-6482. At this time there will be installation of county officers. A motion was made and passed to plant flowers and plants on the school grounds to beautify the landscaping. Also that an evergreen tree be planted on Arbor Day as a donation from - the club. The April meeting will be held at the town hall at which time all new members will be welcomed. A surprise lunch will be served. The program will be antique show and tell. There will also be election of officers, secretary and treasurer. Arlene Krueger and Dorothy Orsolini are on the nominating committee. Mrs. Nora Miller was hostess to the members of her club on Thursday afternoon. Prize winners were Minnie Pierce, Peggy Buesseler, Mame Tinney and Hilda Meyers. BIRTHDAY Guests in the Harvey Petska home to celebrate the eighth- birthday of Kathy Petska were the Tom Petska family, Mr. and Mrs. John Pulaski, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wakeman and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Petska and family. A barbecue beef roast dinner was served. VISITORS Mr. and Mrs. Russell Chamber of Middletown, N.Y., Colorful Program For Gem-Minerals Hiawatha Gem and Mineral society members will meet in the dining room of McHenry West campus high school Tuesday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m. Dorothy H. Gleiser, assistant director, Illinois, representing the regional Midwest Federation of Mineralogical spent the past week with her mother, Mrs. Laua Kutish. and Geological societies, will address the membership describing benefits of group affiliation with the MWF. Six such federations make up the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. Educational, recreational and public services of the individual clubs are strengthened and unified by the local, regional and national structures. The meeting will conclude with a live program and colorful presentation of "Gems and Minerals of North Carolina - Spruce Pine area". The program will include a display of identified specimens of North Carolina's raw gems and minerals and a description of collecting sites by guest speaker, James Kleinert. Information regarding membership in the Hiawatha Gem and Mineral society will be available to welcome visitors and guests who are interested in any of the earth sciences of geology, minerals, fossil collecting or lapidary arts or archeology at the meeting. • * * • People who extend liberal support to the churches sel dom worry about what they get in return.
