wsg *89BQD©Cl KWj 5*1 Vr ^*»i» Seems t' this ol' lady that the popular news media might be able t' set sich a good example fer our vounguns. that it could change society in short time. One c'n foller th' trend o' th' times, throughout th' years, jist by checkin' on th' type o' ad- vertisin', an' printed matter, art an' sich,t' be found in th' newspaper. In days past, young minds wuz pertected from wrong influence, 'til they wuz old enough t' understand an' accept th' facts o' th' day, wi' out it havin' adverse influences on th' young minds. In this day, when ever'thin' imaginable is t' be seen on th' popular media, seems t' this granny that it's more im portant n ever t' be careful o' what may harm th' young minds. Th' advertisers seem t' think that a dollar can't be earned wi'out exploitin' a woman's form, vi' only a fig leaf fer cover, so t' speak. Consequently, ye can't open a magazine, newspaper r other form o' publication, wi'out th' nude, 'r almost naked, human form. A society that becomes so tolerant o' what's fed t' 'em. soon develops an immunity, like a gittin' used t' pain, an' soon they ain't aware o' what's happenin' t' their sense o' what's decent an' what ain't. Most folks re aware that impressions made on th' young mind, atween th'^ges. infancy t' about five years old. shape th' character o' th' little ' un fer a lifetime. Seems t' be th' fact that th' things folks see, makes a stronger impression 'n other influences. Seemin'ly. there's developed, in some younguns, a lack o' respect fer th' human body, along wi' th' adult trend t' promiscuity, lack o' respect fer th' finer things o' life. It's up t' th' people t' take th' stand t" correct th' mistakes, t' set a better standard, in fluences fer higher cultural qualities, an' make th' effort t' create a better world fer mankind. Apathy t' th' sitiation. only increases th' dangers, an' each generation slips a bit further down-grade. Bet ye'd be amazed, if ye knew how much society's af fected by advertisin'. Quality, in ever'thin'. affects our lives more'n we realize.
