Raymond Bellon FSO-PR 815-385-5308 U.S.C.G. Aux. Flotilla 6-3 the age and size of the group, so the best way to plan is to contact the Speedway by writing track President and Manager Gordon Sill, Waukegan Speedway, 3305 Washington Street, Waukegan, 111. 60085. In the past Scout troops and Little League teams have been among the most popular groups visiting the track. Once the group is okayed and a date is set, the group just arrives together at the ticket gate, announces what group they are and buys whatever tickets apply to their case. If the group arrives early enough, they can all. sit together and the track an nouncer will be happy to greet them. • The Speedway starts its 1973 season on Saturday night April 7 with late model sportsman races, hobby stock races and late model super stock prac tice. An expected entry field of 36 sportsman cars will be trimmed to just 16 by feature time with that event being contested at 25-laps. Late model super stock car competition will return to the Waukegan Speedway on a Sunday night schedule beginning May 6. Their feature races will be 30-laps in length around the one-quarter mile paved oval. Time trials start at 7 p.m. with the first race at 8 o'clock. On most nights, the races are over by 10:30, in fact the average "go-home" time was iO;20 in 1972.
