If this affects you in any way your involvement is obligated. Many people have expressed their desire for improvement, yet volunteer workers are very scarce. Those interested will make an effort to attend and let it be known that they care. Everyone is busy with personal activities and could give the usual excuses. However, the small minority who attends meetings feels the time is well spent. Your West* Shore Beach Property Owners association urges you to become a part of your community. With weather permitting, come to the beach to show your concern. Other wise the meeting will be held at the Schmidt residence, 5407 Highland. Please be there Saturday, welcome! Everyone is WOMEN'S AUXILIARY A fine evening of fun on May 4 was enjoyed by the ladies of West Shore Beach at the home of Lorraine Hagen. Those at tending included Ann Garrelts, Marie Wegner, Erna Piatt, Bonnie Ketchum, Lucille Nelson, Lyall Andersen, Grace Latimer, Pat Hartmann, Dolores Jaburek and Connie Schmidt. A great discussion of old times and happy moments was shared by everyone. The attendance award was gladly accepted by Dolores Jaburek. Also, refreshments were provided by the hostess and auxiliary members. Try to attend our next meeting on June 7 at Marie Wegner's. We will be looking forward to seeing some new members. HUGE SUCCESS The glass and tin can collection held on April 28 at the McHenry Market Place proved to be very worthwhile for the West Shore Beach Women's auxiliary as well as the residents of McHenry. Those helping to make the day a success included Harold Johnson, Boyd Knaack, Carl Ritter, Fred Schmidt, Mrs. Beverly Johnson, Mrs. Dolores Jaburek, Mrs. Curt Erickson and Mrs. Connie Schmidt. Without the truck service of Mr. Johnson and Mr. Knaack, the collection would not have been able to take place. We need to get more ladies for the last Saturday of this month, May 26. Our own residents should still continue saving their glass and tin for the collection. A helpful hint to those of you who do not haVe the time while cooking to squash tin cans: rinse cans out and place in a box or bag until later when you have more time to remove paper and cut remaining bottoms off. Please help us by saving since we do need your support. Call me or an auxiliary lady for in formation or pick-up service. FIELD TILES It has been brought to may attention that our existing trenching problems can be complicated by broken field tiles. Our subdivision has a system of drainage tiles throughout the area that move surface water toward the lake. If by accident from digging in your garden or from any other digging you break a tile, it will need to be replaced to avoid a flooding of the surrounding Lakemoor-Lilymoor Alma Hueckstaedt 385-5689 New Village Appointments Are Announced New village appointments have been made as follows: treasurer, Donald Whynot; village attorney, Samuel D i a m o n d ; c o n s u l t i n g engineers, Baxter and Woodman; building inspector, Norman Morrison; sanitation inspector, John Foute; elec- property.
