To .celebrate this occasion, Congressman Robert McClory will be the guest speaker. Mr. McClory is currently the congressman for the 13th Congressional district, com­ prised of parts of Kane, Lake and McHenry counties. He is a lawyer by profession and served two years in the Illinois House of Representatives and ten years in the Illinois Senate prior to his election to Congress in 1962. He is a permanent member of the United States congressional delegation to the In­ terparliamentary union, and the only American to chair an IPU committee. Most recently, he participated in an IPU CLINIC FOR NURSES - A workshop for nurses helping provide instruction on restorative nursing ideas includes a demonstration on the reigns of motion for patients being rehabilitated. Sweet Adelines Recruit Members After Fine Show The Prospective Woodstock chapter of Sweet Adelines, under the direction of Mrs. Don Gattone of McHenry, en­ tertained a near capacity crowd recently at the chapter's first performance, "Dixie Debut." The rich, harmonious tones of barbershop singing filled the air as the chorus, as well as award winning women's and men's quartets, "The Stereo Set" and "The Note Abouts," put forth their best musical efforts. The women in the chorus were especially honored by the presence of the regent of Region 3 (Illinois) Sweet Adelines, Ruth Diebler, who had traveled from Chicago in order to hear this new chapter, the newest in the region, per­ form, and to meet its members. Many "dignitaries," men and women, were present, and at the close of the performance, the novice Sweet Adelines, as well as the audience, felt delightfully and wholehear­ tedly initiated into the world of barbershop. After several hectic months, the Sweet Adelines are now settling down to the more relaxing project of increasing their ranks. The group holds its meetings in Woodstock, because it is centrally located and members come from all over the county. Anyone who would like to sing and is con­ templating joining is invited to one of the meetings, held every Tuesday night at 7:30 at St. John's Lutheran church on Route 47 in Woodstock. Early Registration For YMCA Day Camp End May 15 Any boy or girl who registers by May 15 to attend the sum­ mer day camp conducted by the Lake Region YMCA will receive a free YMCA T-shirt. The minimum age for boys and girls to attend the Day Camp is 6»£. The maximum age is 13. There will be four periods of day camp this summer. The first period will be conducted from June 26 to July 6, the second period is from July 9 to July 20, the third period is from July 23 to Aug. 3 and the fourth period is from Aug. 6 to Aug. 17. There are two sites used by J the Lake Region YMCA for day camp. Thunderbird Farm pool on Three Oaks road and Route 14 is the site of the one-hour morning swim. Each camper receives swim instructions and the opportunity for recreational swim during this hour. The second site that is used is 7350 South Route 31, the location of the new YMCA building. The YMCA building site has seven acres of woods available for use by th« day campers, in addition to a large open area available for land sports. Also, cookouts, camperaft, nature study, hiking, singing and outdoor sports will be enjoyed by all. Boys and girls who have been in previous day camps should know that this year's day camp will be held at the scheduled site, Monday through Friday, and bus trips will be taken only in the event of an all day rainstorm. Chartered bus transportation is available from locations where there are at least four registered campers. Campers also may be brought by car to Thunderbird farm at 9:05 a.m. and picked up at the YMCA site at 3:45 p.m. One-pot cookout lunches will be prepared over camper-built fires every Thursday. On other days sack lunches should be brought to camp by all cam­ pers. Cold milk is provided by the YMCA. Soft, shiny hair is the word f o r s p r i n g .
