FRIDAY • SATURDAY & SUNDAY ninety-sixth natal day, week after next, I thought o' all th' Mother's days we'd celebrated t' gether, an' also all the years afore we thought o' a "Mother's Day", t' celebrate th' most wonderful thing a woman c'n know. X, God's gift t' womankind, babies t' shape into th' kind o' human adults they'll turn out t' be. No woman knows th' joys o' bein' a mother, 'til she has th' experience. I'll tell ye it's worth all th' hardships one en counters, along th' way, an' most o' us elders ha' seen many. I think there's no pride t' be compared wi' that we find in reapin' th' harvest o' years invested in doin' $ good job o' rearin' younguns f be proud o' their own accomplishments, considerate o' th' elders an' others, t' be dignified an' clean, anxious t' impress others wi' their ability t' stand on their own two feet, an' not depend on th' generosity o' society. But, Mother's day c'n be every day. Most mothers work hard fer th' family, 're sort o' taken fer granted, along wi' all th' things they do, day by day. Many times she's so hard- pressed t' git all th' necessary things done, she can't find time t' rest, but th' other members o' th' family have time fer fun an' personal int'rests. I jist hope that, now Mother's day celebrations 're o'er fer another year, families don't McHenry County college and the McHenry County Legal Secretaries' association will present a "Seminar Double Header" Tuesday and Wed nesday, May 22 and 23.
