Plans for their next trip were discussed. This venture will take them down the Fox River on a paddieboat, beginning at St. Charles. Also they will take a look at some relic trolleys in Elgin. President, Marie Robinson did Lake traveled here from far away Swansea, South Wales on the Gower Peninsula. Trevor Llewellyn and his wife, Joan, stayed with the Kasik Oleszc- zuk family in Indian Ridge for about two weeks. Mrs. Muriel Oleszczuk is Trevor's sister. The one thing that impressed the Llewellyns most during their Wonder lake visit was the friendliness of the people. Joan Llewellyn especially liked our huge shopping centers nearby and packed her bags with many of our "bargains". SAMPLE SEMINARY LIFE Seventh and eighth grade boys from Christ the King parish who might be interested in sampling life in a seminary have been inyited to the Redemptorist seminary in Edgerton, Wis. ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR The Wonder Woods Women's auxiliary is planning an Arts and Crafts Fair on Sunday, July 1, at the parking lot of the Hilltop Grocery in Wonder Woods subdivision. The creative talents of many Wonder Lakers will be on exhibit and the sales will benefit the Wonder Woods subdivision. All ladies of the subdivision are welcome to attend the next meeting of the auxiliary which will be Thursday, June 21, at 8 p.m. at the firehouse on the east side of the lake. CUB SCOUT NEWS Cub Scout Pack 145 ended their scouting year on Sunday, June 3, with a family picnic at Christ the King parking lot. Charcoal grilled hot dogs, beans, salads, potato chips, pop. cupcakes and ice cream added a few inches to the belts of the kids as well as their moms and dads. Potato sack races and an egg throwing contest were some of the games played afterwards. Cubmaster Joe Geisinger presented awards to Mark Bell, a gold arrow and to Tim Jones, also a gold arrow. He announced that Pack 145 had received a first place ribbon for Scout-O-Rama. The boys in the Pack received first, second and third year pins. Den 3, with Donna Maris, Den Mother and Audrey Burrows, assistant Den Mother, accumulated the most ribbons throughout the year and each scout in the den was given a Cub Scout ring. Recognition was given to the Den Mothers for their hard work this past year and each will receive a Den Mother charm. The ladies honored were: Pat Seaver, Den 2; Donna Maris, Den 3; Irene Geisinger, Den 4; Sandy Leek, Den 5; Judy Willmann, Den 6; and Audrey Burrows, Assistant, Den 3. A special thanks also to Janet Bell and Marlene Lundborg who helped out whenever called upon. (All of the dens recently visited the jail at the new county court house and the Webelos are planning a trip there soon. Due to complications involving arrangements with a bus company, the trip to the Milwaukee Zoo has been postponed until Sept, 8. SUMMER COURSE Mrs. Mavis Baby of Rich mond, who is kindergarten teacher at Harrison school, will be utilizing her summer vacation learning to better cope with another aspect of the education of kindergarten children. During the summer months she will take a course in learning disabilities at the National College of Education in Evanston. NEW DAUGHTER Viki Rae is the name chosen by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Lembke, Sr. 8917 Shady Lane, Wonder Lake, for their fourth child. She was born May 17 in Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock. Viki weighed 6 lbs. 6 ozs. and has two brothers, Robert, 9, and James, 8 and a sister, Lisa, 6. Paternal grandmother is Mr. Dennis McCarty of Crystal Lake completes his registration for McHenry County college summer session with Mary Ann Scherman of the college registration office. Approximately 400 students registered for classes during the first two days of registration, June 5 and 6. Late registration will be held through Thursday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to noon and 5 to 7 p.m. Students may also register Friday, June 15, from 9 a.m. to noon. Summer School Opens At MCC McHenry County college is offering an extensive adult education program during the current summer session. The program consists of thirty-two different non-credit courses. A schedule of courses is available at the Crystal Lake campus of McHenry County college, 6200 Northwest highway, Crystal Lake. Since the summer schedule was printed, several new courses have been added: "Yoga, Diet and Health" (beginning and advanced) will be offered from 7 to 9:45 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church at 401 St. John's road, Woodstock. "Flower Arranging" is acheduled on Thursday nights from 7 to 10 starting June 14 at St. John's Lutheran church in Woodstock. "Small Engines" will be taught at Woodstock high school auto shop from 9a.m. to noon Thursday, starting June 27. "Fundamentals of Music Theory" is offered from 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday and Wed nesday night at the Crystal Lake campus, Room E 118. "Typing Refresher" from 9 a.m. to noon, in Room E 202 at the Crystal Lake campus. Further information about these courses may be obtained at the Office of Community Services at the college. HOSPITAL PATIENT Our neighborhood has been missing the smiling face of young two year old Todd Parquette, son of Nancy and Ron Parquette. Todd has been a patient in McHenry Hospital and at last report his illness is much improved. Brother, Scott, who is 5, also says he misses the little guy. Get well soon, Todd. SILVER WEDDING Don Huff and the woman he's often seen with were happy to be among the hall full of people at the Johnsburg Community Club on Saturday, June 2, to share in the twenty-fifth wedding clelebration of /Uger and Lu Oeffling.
