McHenry Shores Mrs. Rose Lillegard (Business) 385-8500 President Names Police Chief And Patrolman At the June 28 board of trustee meeting, President Bieritz appointed, with the approval of the board, Police Chief Earl Buck and Patrolman Don Zutaut. Clerk Lillegard swore in the two neuw ap­ pointments and congratulated them. WATER TOWER RISING Word has been received from the water company that the erection of the water tower would begin within the next week. It is asked that all parents see to it that their children remain away from the site of construction for their own protection and safety. DOG ORDINANCE AMENDMENT The village board by a vote of 6 yes, 0 nays accepted an amendment to the dog or­ dinance. The amendment explains the disposal of un­ claimed animals and the fees involved. It also explaines the situations of dog bites and the quarantine procedures. The amendment can be found printed elsewhere in Plain- dealer under legal notices. STREET SIGNS AND GRASS CUTTING As you have probably noticed, the cutting of vacant lots has begun through out the village. It is asked that if you see debris on the vacant lots after they have been cut, please assist by picking it up and depositing it with your weekly garbage. If you see anyone disposing of debris on vacant lots please notify the police department, as this is prohibited within the village limits. The road commissioner Sam Ziemet and his most devoted crew are hard at work on the repainting of the street signs. Please bear with the men as this is a very time con­ suming job.
