PAGE 4-PLAINDEALER-FRIDAY, JULY 6, 1973 Lakeland Pari ANNE MOORE 385-6448 Urge Residents to Drive Carefully In Subdivisbn All drivers are asked to drive with extreme caution through our subdivision. As we all are aware, the roads are in terrible condition due to sewer con struction. Had one caller tell me that a driver actually blasted his horn at kids playing and continued at top speed down Meadow Lane. While older children might realize the significance of a horn, I am not so sure younger children would. The posted speed limit is 20 m.p.h. so please observe it, and slow down when you see kids playing. A rock or pebble can easily cause serious injury if richoeheted by a car Let's keep our children safe. Jerry Treadwell was a bachelor again for a week while his wife, Penny, and their daughters, Susan and Patty, visited Jerry's dad, Francis (Tready), and his wife, Gloria, in Moline The senior Treadwells were here for a visit when the idea of an impromptu trip to Moline came up. It was a nice change of pace for the Treadwell ladies but we want them to know they were missed. Jerry drove down to pick them up last weekend and they spent a few days visiting relatives they hadn't seen, for some time and they all enjoyed themselves! SUMMER CAMP OVER John Gacek is home from his Army reserve "vacation" to Camp McCoy, Wis., and Sharon and Jay are happy he is! Seems things began happening around the Gacek home while daddy was away! Be sure to ask Sharon or better yet ask her sister, Donna! Donna probably won't keep Sharon and Jay company next year! John was able to drive home the middle weekend of his two week stint so it wasn't too lonely for Sharon and Jay. Donna spent the better part of the two weeks and enjoyed herself swimming and learning tennis, and watching Jay while mom ran some one hour errands!! Sharon and Donna's mom, Mrs. DeSilva, joined the girls for a part of the second week and they all enjoyed a visit to Long Grove. . . in between having various repairmen out to the house! Welcome home John. . . I know of one lady who is looking forward to a Florida vacation! BARKING DOGS Okay folks, time for some serious thoughts about barking canines. . . all night! Have had complaints about a few families who tie their pets out all night subjecting various neighbors to continuous noise. . and about those folks who let their pets roam the subdivision at night. T It's inconsiderate to say the . least because one barking dog can set every inside dog to barking also. And, it is a case of disturbing the peace! So please learn to control any barking dog you may have and keep your dogs on your property or you may have one of our policemen pay you a not so friendly visit! FATHER'S DAY VISIT I forgot to mention that Rudy and Dorothy Lense and family spent Father's Day with Dorothy's dad, Arthur Sawyer, in Wadsworth. Dorothy's sister, Nancy Olson and her three children were also there and they all enjoyed their fajnily get-together with Dad and Grandfather! SWIM AT OWN RISK As far as I know, the beaches are still closed due to the parasites. There is no warning posted at the beaches but it is taken for granted that you are swimming at your own risk. Be sure that you towel dry when you come out of the water. It is believed that the parasites will not enter the skin if you dry yourself immediately. I will inform you when the water is thought to be clear of the trouble as soon as possible. JULY 4th PARTY Things will be bustling at our house on July 4.
