STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD West Shore Beach Connie Schmidt 385-7841 Summer Weather Brings Residents Out-Of-Doors The recent swimming ban issued by the McHenry County Health Department has been lifted from MeCullom Lake. Residents may now use the beach facilities without alarm of the swimmer's itch. Please try to do your part by keeping our beach free from unsightly litter. Everyone likes to have a clean area, so pick up any debris which could harm your children. If we all do a little part many will be able to enjoy the facilities. In addition, there has been summer residents and visitors coming to West Shore Beach. Please feel free to say a friendly hello and inform them of any necessary rules and regulations. Especially remember that no cars or trucks should be parked on the subdivision roads to hinder passers-by. Summer also brings the necessary maintenance of property from grass and weeds. Try to keep things short on your property along with the road frontage and rear division lines. This helps to discourage mosquitoes and snakes and lets others know you like to keep things neat. Let's all try to improve just a little; the out-of- doors needs to be enjoyed by everyone. WOMEN'S AUXILIARY The ladies of West Shore Beach gathered at the home of Lorraine Hagen the first Thursday of this month. Those who could attend included: Erna Piatt, Ann Garrelts, Marie Wegner, Katherine Aissen, Dolores Jaburek, Bonnie Ketchum, Martha Dignan, Virginia Scharlow, Pat Hartmann, Connie Schmidt, Terry Brodin, and Lyall An dersen. The evening's at tendance award went to Connie Schmidt. Everyone certainly enjoyed the refreshments that were served and had a pleasant round of conversation. Let's try to plan ahead for next month and have a great time with your neighbor ladies. Come and make yourself at home. Please join us. RECYCLING Any bottles and cans can be brought to 5407 Highland Drive for our monthly drive at the McHenry Market Place, July 28. Please save your newspapers also as they are contributed to the McHenry County Defenders. Anvone who could spare an hour's time please contact me. Last month we had a great turnout and expect even more this month. Try to remember the proper cleaning rules for both bottles and cans otherwise they will not be accepted. MOTOR MINI BIKES The sheriff's department has infornied us that all mini bikes should not be driven on sub division roads. It is illegal by law for minors to operate them on public thoroughfares, but you may do so on your own private property. Please obey these rules and let your neigh bors know they do exist. PERSONALS Birthday celebration ranks high this month!. On July 5 Katherine Aissen was given a happy birthday. July 7 brought Ed Piatt fond birthday wishes for the day. Friday, July 13, marked Dolores Jaburek with luck and much birthday happiness. And may you all have many, many more. A happy anniversary was had by Virginia and Ray Scharlow who remembered their wed ding vows July 6. Chet and Lyall Andersen enjoyed a camping trip to Cornell, Wis., this past month.
