SAVE 1 i I 1 I Grandma Wiedrich Observes 100th Birthday Aug. 21 Grandma Wiedrich will celebrate her one-hundredth birthday on Tuesday, August 21. Her daughter, Flora Carr, said that her mom is doing nicely and is very alert for her age. So let's all send Grandma Wiedrich a card for her bir thday and wish her well. She is at the Villa Nursing Home or send the cards to Ringwood and Flora will take them to her. She has already received a card from the Shadles in California. Happy birthday, Grandma Wiedrich. THE FAIR The McHenry County 4-H Fair may be a thing of the past but I'm sure the boys and girls in our community who are 4-H club members have many happy memories (perhaps a few disappointing, too). There are many hours of hard work, planning, and attending meetings to bring their fair projects through to a com pletion where they can be put on display to compete with other young folks in the county and be exhibited to the public. We are proud of these young people and trust they will put to good use, the knowledge they have learned this past year. BEAUTIFUL WEDDING Saturday, August 4, at 3 o'clock was the beautiful wedding for Miss Debbie Betts and Bill Bork of Chicago. The sunny afternoon was all in time with the lovely lawn reception held in the yard of Debbie's parents, the Robert Betts. There were around 100 guests present to wish the young couple well. BAKER REUNION The Art Baker family of Ringwood traveled to Strawberry Point, Iowa, to be present at the Baker family reunion held there on Sunday. They left on Saturday an^' this week returned home on Monday af ter spending a wonderful day visiting with members of the family who don't always make it when they are home visiting the two grandmothers. HERE AND THERE Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brennan of Oak Lawn and their < children, Wayne and Wendy, were weekend* guests of the Charles Brennans. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Soddy of Kenosha*were also visiting at the Brenn&n-Hepburn home this past weekend. While here, they took Mrs. Nellie Hepburn to call on Grandma Wiedrich at the Pistakee Nursing Home. Grandma Wiedrich will be celebrating her one-hundredth birthday on Tuesday, August 21. Recent visitors in the Brennan-Hepburn home were Mrs. Webster Biackmon of Richmond and daughter Mrs Joan Buelow of Spring Grove with children, Mike, Mary Lois, and Laurie. We have a new paper boy again carrying the Sentinels throughout the neighborhood. It is Bob Baker. Those campers were out camping again this weekend. Dick and Jackie Crosby and children, and Walt and Doris Low went with the Dancing Wheels (this is the square dance campers) to Trout Valley near Elkhorn. Hey, Don and Ruth, we missed you two being there. Home made ice cream was in order last Tuesday evening when the Larry Thomas family and Mabel Thomas of McHenry arrived at the Low household The occasion- being to help Doris' brother, Darold, celebrate his birthday which was onAug. 2. Alsopresent to wish him happy birthday were Patti Miller and boys and Sue Erwin and children of Wonder Lake. There was 2'/2 gallons of ice cream consumed. Darold and family then left on Thur sday headed for Arizona. Hey! Aunt Nellie -- any more accidents lately??? Glad to see Dorothy Betts and Eric from Gasville, Ark. Also Bob Betts' sister, Delores, came to be here for Debbie Betts' wedding. £ddie has been vi^itirig his brother, Earl, $nd sister, Esther, for the la&t'^month and will return me with his mom sometime "500 CARD CLUB" The ladies "500" card club met in the home of Vera Frey in Richmond last Wednesday. Vivian Jackson went home with high score and Arlene Pearson went home with low again. Gee Arlene we do hope your luck changes one of these days.
