Til 1:00 This ol' rockin' chair's been a doin' some real rockin' lately, whilst this granny 's been reflectin' about all th' mistakes man has made, an' th' results. Seems as though he's been defeated in his efforts t' save lives, wi' th' many ac complishments o' medical research, but snuffs out thousands o' lives, wi' his other feats o' brain-power, th' in struments made t' kill human bein's. I been a readin' in th' papers, that another government has come up wi' a new gadget V counter those we now have, an' that triggers off new research t' find somethin' that'll put it out o' business, an' so, on we go. As long as that's th' pattern o' thinkin', wi' those in high of fice, in all countries o' th' world, we'll ne'er be at peace. Brotherly love is somethin' folks seem t' know nothin' about, 'til they stand a good chance o' bein' hungry, seems t' me. Looks like we, in America, re expected t' play big brother t' ever'onc, else, while we'rq a tryin' t' help 'em, at th' same time, sellin' 'em th' things we're a goin't' need, ourselves. Th' reason we've had it good, is 'cause we produced more 'n we needed, an' now we've dug inter our stores an' depleted 'em, so's we can't feed th' animals an' chickens we should be havin' t' feed ourselves. Looks like funny business, t' this ol' lady, that folks in control o' our economy can't come up wi' better management. Takes a woman t' figger out how t' manage th' food bill, an' they're th' ones carin' about how th' younguns eat. Mebbe it might be better t' length gown of aqua with satin ruffles at the neckline and cuffs and wore a white cymbidium orchid corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a white lace modified halter dress with inlaid blue daisies and a white orchid corsage. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception for 250 guests was held at the American Legion hall, McHenry. Joyce Heard cir culated the guest book at the reception. Upon their return from a honeymoon trip to Florida, the young couple plan to makfc their home at Huron, S.D. The young people graduated from MCHS, the bride in 1971 and the groom in 1970. The new Mrs. Heard will be employed at a day care center in Huron. Her husband is now attending Huron college in that city, where he is a senior. put th whole thing in th' hands o' th women, an' I bet ye'll see some changes made. Guess we'll ne'er git away from worryin' about th' mistakes that cause th' country t' fall apart. Jist give people some scandal t' chaw on, an' they git so involved they lose track o' what's a goin' on in th' rest o' th' world. Suddenly, we git th' news that there's a new danger facin' us, in th' way o' civil defense, an' we need t' spend our good money t' find a new way o' competin' wi' it. Ever'thin's so mixed up, an' troubled, seems as though there ain't no way t' straighten it out.
