By order of The President and Board of Trustees of Village of Sun- . nyside 1 Aug. 7, 1973 Evelyn S. Sandell, Clerk (Pub. Sept. b, 11, 1973) Twice Told Tales Roseanne, as visitors this past week. Ken and Roseanne live in Norwood, Mass., and it's been a year since they were here last. Mr. Frost has been on vacation, as was his daughter, Jane, and son, Tom, so the family has been able to do things together, and catch up on the happenings of the past year. Only missing members were Jim Frost and his wife, Barbara, who have started school already. The Frosts planned to visit them Friday, and all hoped Jim and Barbara could make it here Sunday, when other relatives were coming to visit. Ken and Roseanne are leaving Wed nesday to see some friends in Ohio, and from there they will return home to Norwood. PEOPLE AROUND TOWN Congratulations to Cindy Cunningham on making it to the raft and back. The first time she had a little assistance, but the second time she made it all by herself. Nothing to it, right Cindy? Saw Mrs. Barbara Thacker at school registration, and am happy to report she is feeling much better. Mrs. Erna Pagel, Harriet McNamara's sister from Plymouth, Ind., spent the holiday weekend at McCullom Lake with Mrs. McNamara. Bridget Scarbrough, Elaine Gleeson, Phyllis Venable, and Karen Parks took their children on an outing to the Milwaukee Zoo last week, where they all had an enjoyable day. TEEN DANCE A large number of young people attended the teen dance Aug. 25, although they didn't do much dancing. They all seemed to be having a good time, though, and most stayed till the end. Later in the evening, after the youngest kids left, there was more dancing, and even the chaperones did their share. Perhaps the teens were shy, but I'm sure this will be overcome at future dances which the Beach Gals plan to sponsor at least once or twice a year. Since their purpose is to do things for children of all ages in the village, they can't have dances regularly. If teens are interested in more frequent planned activities, maybe they could find adult sponsors, and for a teen club of their own. REMINDERS Beach Gals meeting, Wed nesday, Sept. 5, at the beach house. New members are very welcome. Village board meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 11, 8 p.m. at the beach house. OCCASIONS A happy birthday to Bertha Hejkal, Sept. 6. And best wishes to John and Marcella Kalash, who celebrate 33 years of wedded bliss, Sept. 7. Please call with birthdays and anniversaries, as I have no previous list. Biggest trouble with kids with transistors is that both are portable. Fall is the season when we try to make lunch last 4 or 5 innings. FORTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of Sept. 14, 1933) Accomplishing a feat never before undertaken by a human being, H.
