Guard Auxiliary Will Hold, Dinner On Saturday, November 17, the U.S. Coast Guard auxiliary of Wonder Lake will kick off a second year with its first Change-of-Watch Dinner. Members will present to the people of Wonder Lake and the Coast Guard their ac­ complishments for the year. Mrs. Joseph Bauer and son, Brother Paul, S.D.S., spent the past week in the home of Dr and Mrs. Raymond Bauer and family in Grosse Pointe, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. William Jordan were in Grand Haven, Mich., a few days, last week, to renew acquaintance with old friends, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Welsh. Mrs. Frances Widhalm and Mrs. Lillian Stoffel returned Sunday by plane from a trip to St. Petersburg, Palm Harbor and Holiday, Fla., where they visited friends. Mrs. Dorothy Dixon Holtdorf of Silver Lake spent Friday in the Dale Dixon and Fred Bienapfl homes. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Knowles of River Forest were weekend Lake's Coast COMEDY LEADS-.Donald Crop as Jesse Kiplinger, Hollywood producer, confides in his old high school flame, Muriel, played by Donatelle, in the hilarious Neil Simon comedy, "Plaza Suite". The Play opens Friday, Nov. 2, and continues Nov. 4, 9, 10, 16, and 17 at the McHenry Dinner Theatre I'his show , besides featuring professional acting, will also feature a lobster tail and chicken dinner. Dinner will be served from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. and the curtain rises for the play at 8 p.m. Reservations are limited. To obtain reservations, call the McHenry Country club. Arts-Crafts Show In Lake County Nov. 7 An Arts and Crafts show will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, on the Lake county fairgrounds, Gray slake, sponsored by the Lake County Homemakers, extension of the University of Illinois. It will open at 10 a.m. and continue until 8 p.m. A special skit, "Any Old Leg is Beautiful", will be presented at 2 and 7 o'clock. The public may view or purchase at a large number of booths prepared by more than twenty units of homemakers in Lake county. Coffee and lunch will be served, starting at 11 a.m. 17th Annual Snow Ball At Country Club The Lakeland Park Women's club is beginning to formulate plans for its seventeenth annual Snow Ball dinner and dance. It will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, at the McHenry Country club. Dinner will be served at 7 o'clock, followed by dancing at 9. Tickets are available from all club members or the ticket chairlady, Lyda Radisch, 1712 N. Knoll avenue, McHenry. HOLIDAY VILLAGE BAZAAR Saturday, Nov. 3, the Women's Society of Christian Service of the First United Methodist church of Crystal Lake is sponsoring a Holiday Village bazaar. It continues from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Shops will offer a wide variety of homemade items for children, home decorations, candle making supplies, gifts and holiday specialties, as well as homemade baked goods. A cafeteria style lunch will be served from 11:30 to 1 p.m. The event will be held at the church hall. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Alex Adams enjoyed a plane trip to Mobile, Ala., last week where they spent a few days in the home of their niece and husband, Dr. and Mrs. David Laycock, and while there had the pleasure of visiting the famous Bellingrath Gardens and Home where they were very much surprised to meet Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ferwerda of McHenry. Family Service Announces Fund Raising Event The Family Service aiiu Mental Health clinic announces that the fall fund raising event will be its "Let Us Entertain You!" booklet. This booklet, similar, to the dine-out booklet of past years, contains coupons for several establishments. All of the coupons are included in the booklet for a specified donation to the clinic. Booklets can be obtained from any member of the board of directors of the clinic or at the clinic office in McHenry or Woodstock. "The Lake and Its Watershed - Is Development a Threat?" will be the topic of the evening speaker, Shuji Kimura. Kimura is an active member of the Kiwanis and the Congregational church of Crystal Lake.
