A taste of what will probably grace the mini screen is offered in the following lines. JULIE ANDREWS is still trying to figure out how she won an Emmy and was can celed in the same season for the same show. Neverthe less, she will be back for five ABC specials, includ ing Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. JACK BENNY, who had a retiring - from - the - business show last season, will be coming on strong in a post retirement show, probably in January. BUGS BUNNY and the yel low pages will be left out when Uncle Milton Berle marks his 60 years as an en tertainer on ABC on Novem ber 27. ANDY WILLIAMS will be on the air for a Christmas show for NBC. Also appear ing during the Yule seasojj will be Bing Crosby, with family and guests. OTHER well-known char acters who will appear in clude Prank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Dinah Shore, Bert Reynolds and Alan King. DRAMA specials stretch from the bite of Dracula to the glory cST-i^merican his tory. Fame, fiction and fact will all compete for the viewers fancy, and will at times try his patience sorely. HAVING presented bread in the form of the specials mentioned above, and others, the media will also give us a circus. In February NBC will present the Ringling Bros, and Bamum and Bailey extravaganza. Stay tuned. Long, warm robes are in style this season. With a shortage of fuel threatened for winter months, they Hvill not only be in fashion but also very comfortable. Colors for these robes are in beautiful shades of blue, red and green. The cardigan sweater has regained a first place in sweater -popularity. Some are in cable stitch and rather long. Knitted vests are also favored. Styles of the day are rem iniscent of thirty years ago. Capes are back--also cape like sleeves. Scarfs are used around the throat or across a backless dress. Scarfs or voluminous stoles of soft materials are used with halter style dresses. Many of the new dresses are floor length. One Woman To Another: "Mabel, there's something I just must tell you about Grace Watson -- before I find out it isn't true." Dear Louisa, My father owns a store and I have been working for him for years but I have never received a regular salary. When I want to buy anything I go to the cash box and take out what I need and leave a note of the amount in the box. I would rather have a reg ular salary but my father gets upset when I mention it and says that I can buy anything I wish. Now I am going with this girl I like very much and if I gave her a present I do not care for my father to know everything I do. Don't you think I should have a regular salary ? I am twenty-two years old. Discouraged--Fla. Answer: Of course you should have a regular salary and be able to save out of it for the spe cial things you want to do or buy. Your father seems to wish to keep you a little boy after * you have become an adult. Go to him and tell him that you are not satisfied just to be taking cash out of the till. Social security paid on your salary is also insurance for you later on. And a person 5 is more careful with money j which is his rather than that£j which is doled out. Louisa.
