Prices Effective February 20 thru 24 PAGE 22 - McHENKY PLAINDEALER - WEDNESDAY, iou Area Educators Make Evaluation Of Nearby Schools Dr. Robert Boos, superin tendent of McHenry Elementary School Distric 15, and Don Toole, principal of Parkland school, were recently selected by Dr. Michael Bakalis, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, to act as e uators of the Grayslake i ^mentary school district. 1 Dr. Boos acted as a generalist and submitted a broad evaluation of the total educational program offered in Grayslake, together with an evaluation of the organizational structure of the school district. Mr. Toole evaluated the social studies program of the Grayslake schools. Each school district in Illinois will be evaluated sometime during the 1973-74 school year in keeping with the directive of the Office of the Superintendent of Public In struction and the standards for official recognition set by that office. The McHenry elementary schools will be evaluated in April of 1974. State-Federal Funds Reimburse County SchoolJl Illinois schools have been paid a total of $34,227,375 in state and federal funds as reimbursement for vocational and technical education programs for the 1973 fiscal year according to State School Supt. Michael J. Bakalis. McHenry county elementary and secondary districts received $330,473 and the McHenry County Junior college received $24,469. The money, half state and half federal .aiyi , is paid annually to public school districts, junior colleges, universities and other agencies which offer vocational programs, and is used for program operation, equip ment, professional and curriculum development, research activities and special projects. Reimbursement is calculated (m the basis of high school, junior college or university credit generated, or in the case of adult programs, of hours of instruction. The reimbursement is designed to offset the extra cost of vocational programs and to encourage schools to offer more programs of this nature.
