MARCH 27,1974 Gene Slack New President Production Credit GENE SLACK Gene Slack, 44, native of Fuljton county who farmed a dozen years before entering the farm financing business, is the new president of Northeast Illinois Production credit association. Slack's selection to succeed the veteran R.G. "Pat" Ullrich as the operating manager of the farmer-owned cooperative was announced by Alan Ainger, Harvard farmer who is chairman of the board. Ullrich has retired following twenty-two years' association with Production Credit association, the past half dozen as the president of Northeast Illinois PCA. Slack comes to his responsibility serving farmers with short-term credit needs from a similar position at the Kewanee Production Credit association. During twelve years at Kewanee PCA he successively worked as field r e p r e s e n t a t i v e , b r a n c h manager, assistant manager and vice-president.
