This year, the Crlsty-Anderson Nuptials Read In Church Ceremony A beautiful ceremony was solemnized Saturday afternoon in the Ringwood United Methodist church when Terri CHsty became the bride of William Y. Anderson, Jr. The vows in the ceremony were the same vows used by the bride's grandparents, Kenneth and Clara Cristy, when they were married over fifty years ago. Bouquets of pink, blue, yellow and white flowers decorated the altar on either side. Attendants in the wedding party included Patty Christopher, maid-of-honor; Sherri Cristy, honorary maid- of-honor; Diane Gilbert, Nancy Godshall, Gina Weingart and Gay Bream as bridesmaids. Best man was Rich Ende; Geoff Godshall, ring bearer; Larry Cristy, Bill Godshall, Bob Weingart and Bruce Bojko wore groomsmen. Organist for the occasion was Gordon Fossum with special music furnished by Candy, Robin and Priscilla Fossum. Rev. Ruth Wegner officiated at the double ring ceremony. We wish the young couple good luck and many years of happiness together. Shirley's grandmother, Mrs. Eliza Blommaert, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blommaert of Chicago spent Sunday with the Hartjes family. Grandma Blommaert has spent all of her recent birthdays with her granddaughter, Shirley, so she decided that Shirley's moving to the country from Chicago wouldn't stop her. The choir will again be under the direction of Ms. Margaret M. Griffith and will be accompanied by full orchestra. The "St. Patrick's Mass" by Green was written in 1971 and has been performed in London, New York, and Washington, Natives Dive For Quarters To Visitors' Delight ISLAND OF ST. VINCENT (byHugh Kirk) When the ship rounds the coastline to enter the bay at the island of St. Vincent, the shoreline becomes alive with running darkies who have spotted the ship. They run to their little boats and row as fast as they can to be the first ones out to the ship which comes right into the deep water harbor. They shout out something the passengers on board do not understand but the gestures are unmistakable - throw coins to them. What they have apparently been yelling is "quarter". As the coins,?are thrown they almost never land in the boat but no matter. The natives dive in and swim down to get them. Later they get more action by throwing the quarters as far from their boat as possible and in between two boats that are far apart. But this is not a lost quarter in the deep water as one would think, for two, three or even four natives dive in and Banks Account For Large Number License Purchases Many Illinois motorists apparently enjoy the convenience of buying license plates through currency exchanges in the Chicago area and banks throughout the state. Michael J. Howlett, Secretary of State, said the increase in 1974 license plate sales to date over 1973 totals is primarily due to increases at exchanges and banks. Total sales for 1974 have reached 4,595,610, an increase of 164,502 over the 1973 total of 4,431,108. Exchanges have sold 401,181 plates, an increase of 277,198 over last year, and banks have sold 1,786,030, an increase of 109,673. Howlett pointed out that exchanges and banks charge a service fee for plate sales, and there is a short delay in delivery through the exchanges. The only other increase so far over 1973 total sales comes from plates mailed from Springfield. To date, 1,280,668 have been mailed, an increase of 78,966. D.C. This will be the first presentation of the "Mass" in the Midwest. The "St. Patrick's Mass" is written for chorus, tenor solo, and orchestra. In the Mass, Green takes the traditional liturgy of the Mass and treats it with an Irish idiom. He mixes the traditional with the contemporary by combining traditional melodies with new and exciting rhythms, and by adding vibraphone, guitar and snare drum to the conventional orchestra of strings, brass arid woodwind. Tickets for the concert are available at McHenry County college and will be available at the door the night of the concert. go down for exceedingly long periods and come up holding the coin aloft." / It was,a surprise to all on board how many, many boats came out and how they never missed getting the coins that were thrown. When the quarters were gone, dimes were accepted. But to throw a nickel brought up a fist after it was retrieved.' Where did they put the money to be ready for the next dive which seldom left enough time to get back to their tiny boats? Their mouths are their pocketbooks or purses and should have been troublesome on their next underwater dive but it didn't seem to interfere a bit. When the ship was tied up in the harbor, some of the natives would climb the huge ropes and continue to beg for coins to be thrown into the water. Then they would fall off the rope and dive to get them.
