If the water were piped upstream, say into Grass Lake, at least the watershed area to minimize the impact of this additional flow on the water level will be increased many, many, times. During times of high water, many of us can't afford an additional quarter inch of water. Remember, NIPC agreed it can afford the pipe. An added advantage to a pipe in another direction will be the ability of the people who are being served to monitor the quality of the discharged water.
