ILLINI CHIEFS E X T R A S W E E T Sue Rath Married To Dundee Man Miss Sue Rath and Mr. Richard Deutscher of West Dundee exchanged nuptial vows Saturday, April 13, in a 5 o'clock afternoon ceremony solemnized in the First Congregational church of Dundee. Miss Rath is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rath of 4209 Spring Grove road, McHenry. The Rev. Randall officiated at the marriage service in a church decorated with Easter lilies. The radiant bride selected a gown styled by her mother. It was fashioned with empire waist in white embroidered rose patterned organdy over white peau de soi. It featured a stand-up collar of sheared Swiss lace, ruffled bib front with long, sheer, self-ruffling sleeves trimmed with lace. It was slightly sheered in front to a fully gathered bustled effect, with a satin bow in back. A deep ruffled hemline was trimmed with lace. She carried a bouquet of white roses and a few lavender carnations. Her headpiece was made of white Swiss lace and satin bow, covered with a floor length mantilla of white net and embroidered with roses. It was trimmed with Swiss lace that matched her dress. Attending her as matron of honor was Donna Freeman of Elgin. Bridesmaids were Linda Seiling of Gilberts, 111., Mary Butenas of Cortland, 111., Bonnie Schnulle of Hinesville, Ga., and Laurie Rath of McHenry, all sisters, and Luann Olson of Elgin, a cousin. The attendants were attired similarly in full length gowns of lavender print over peau de soi, with ruffled bib front. They had long, sheer sleeves with self ruffles and gathered skirts with fullness to the back, tied with a dainty lavender bow to form a bustle effect. There was a deep ruffle around the bottom. Each wore a lavender printed bow as a headpiece and carried a floral bouquet of lavender and white daisies and carnations. Mrs. Rath made not only the bride's dress, long veil and headpiece, but also the dresses of five of the attendants and matching attire for the three grandchildren. Jerry Hartman of Elgin served as best man. Calling all white elephants! The search is on for cast-offs from basements and attics that .can be turned into "treasures" for sale at the white elephant booth at Fair Diddley, to be held from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 19, on the Woodstock Square. Fair Diddley is the annual fund-raiser sponsored by the Women's auxiliary of the Family Service and Mental Health e for McHenry County. Co-chairwomen of the white elephant booth, Grace Greenwald and Margaret Havlis, are working hard to insure a booth brimming with a variety of items. Donations of used books and records, toys, baked goods, nearly new infants' and children's clothing, and flower containers are also being accepted by auxiliary members. In addition to the booths, special activities are being planned for youngsters attending the fair, including rides, games and prizes, clowns, balloons and refreshments, fair officials promise. She will handle public relations for the tour. The theatre will begin its tour April 24, with a play scheduled at Augsburg college in Minneapolis the following day. It will also appear in Coon Rapids, Minn., Princeton, Minn., Welles, Minn., Cedar Falls, Westchester, 111., Madison, Wis., Milwaukee, Wis., and Delafield, Wis. The tour ends May 14. When on the road, Centre Stage, as the touring theatre is called, will do "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder, "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson, "The World Tipped Over and Laying On Its Side" by Mary. Weber, "Plaza Suite" by Neil Simon, "I'm Herbert" by Robert Anderson, plus two short chancel readings. The Home Economics club will host the Parents' association's last meeting of the year. Spring fashions will be modeled by members of the club.
