The League's non-partisan activity and electorate education is a service to the community. These include voter information, in-depth studies of community issues, and promoting necessary reforms. The League is the only non partisan group in the community undertaking these activities. It supports issues after careful study, but never political candidates. The finance drive date has been changed from early fall to late June to comply with local business and industrial fiscal planning. Of the League's budget, two-thirds is derived from dues and a membership finance drive. League members will be calling on each recipient of the contribution invitation in late June to explain personally the purposes and functions of the League. Those receiving the invitation and unable to schedule a personal call may mail their contribution in the return envelope provided. Anyone who wishes to give to the League and does not receive an invitation may send their contribution to Mrs. Timothy Swanson, Finance Chairman, 6205 Ridgeview, Huntley, Illinois 60142. They will receive by return mail League's sincere apology for having overlooked them and a copy of Spotlight on Woodstock and McHenry. Contributions are tax deductible as advertising because the supporters' advertisement appears on the cover of the League's monthly bulletin. Placement on the cover varies with the amount of the contribution. Anyone interested in League membership may contact the membership chairman, Mrs. James P. (Carol Jean) Smith, McHenry.
