The boys left McHenry early Monday morning with Glen Peterson who took them and their equipment in his truck. In the absence of Scoutmaster M.L. Schoenholtz, Eagle Scouts Richard Vycital and George Johnson made the arrangements. The first jgroup of Chicagoland children/ arrived by train in McHenry and were taken by bus to the camp. Every two weeks a new group will arrive for a vacation. William Peyton, who resides on the Hanley farm, west of McHenry, last week hauled forty head of Brahma steers front Florida to the Sullivan farm at Elburn. The steers will be used for rodeos and carnivals. The Fred Nickels * family moved on Sunday from the apartment above the Sportsman's Inn in West McHenry to Barrington. It was a happy silver wedding day for Mr. and Mrs. William J. Maguire of Wonder Lake and Chicago when their son, William E. Maguire, chose that date last week for his wedding day to Miss Jeanne White of Chicago. Mrs. Roy Miller of Grand avenue, McHenry, won a ten week's old Holstein heifer calf at the National Feed industry show in Milwaukee, June 8. Members of the Martin Conway family held a gathering at the Conway home on John street last Sunday with dinner and supper served on the lawn. The occasion was Father's Day. Joseph Stilling has been quite ill at his home on the Pistakee Bay blacktop road. TEN YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of June 25, 1964) June 29 will open a week of day camp for 178 girls of the Valley View Girl Scout neighborhood, including the entire McHenry area. From Monday through Friday they will enjoy fun and learning in the out of doors on a beautiful site in Cooney Heights woods. Twenty-one year old Judith McReynolds of Fernwood subdivision McHenry, will spend the next two years in Ethiopia as a member of the peace corps. BALLANTYNE Diane K. Ballantyne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy D. Cook of 2613 W Indian trail, McHenry graduated June 8 with a Master of Accounting degree from Utah State university. She is the wife of Mark Ballantyne of Naperville. Prior to attending Utah university, Mrs. Ballantyne received- her Bachelor of Business Administration degree as an Accounting major at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, in January of 1971. A member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor society, she graduated in the top 5 per cent of the graduating class. CYCLONE IS COMING TO Jos.H.Huemann & SONS WELL DRILLING LINCOLN CLOVERLEAVES The Lincoln Cloverleaves held their last meeting June 10 at the James C. Bush elementary school. There was a softball game at 7 and the meeting came to order at 8. Lisa Newport, the president, brought the meeting to order. The pledge of allegiance was led by Judy Vyduna and the 4-H pledge was led by Steve Mueller. The old business was the bicycle clinic which was held June 8. The new business was that we are planning a tour to be held in the summer. The treasurer's report told that our bake sale was a success and we made $77.77. We now have $202.98 in the bank. Talks and demonstrations were given by Kathy Latz on Cats, Mike Miller on Electricity, Terry Boyer on Arrowspace, Robin Nolan on Candles, Fitz Ryan on Rocketry. A ski was then presented by Bill Lang, Alison Boyer, Aric Akins, Angela Akins, Lisa Boyer, Terry Boyer and Lauryn Wernquist. The name of their skit was "What Time Is It". Refreshments followed.
