ANSWERS I ON '£ Z on Z * on I a Under Way--Keep a sharp lookout for floating debris. Remember what they say about icebergs...you see only one third of them. The rest is under water. The same may be true of a small looking object which could be big enough to damage your hull. Avoid it like the plague! Reduce speed if in doubt. Bratwurst, Tacos and goodies. On Saturday and Sunday evenings, there will be a teen dance in the gymnasium. The Chairman of the Fair this year is J(An M. Thompson of Spring Grove and all proceeds from the Horse Fair will be used to purchase additional land for the Spring Grove Elementary School and the community. In the past the Horse Fair has procured many needy things for the school, including a school bus, kindergarten equipment, Learning Center, modern kitchen for the hot lunch program, blacktop for the parking lot and playground, etc. The people of Spring Grove guarantee a day that you will never forget, so pack up the old Buggy (car to you non-horse people) and come prepared for a real good time. How do you get there? Go north for Fox Lake on Highway 12, three miles to Spring Grove, Illinois turn right and follow the Horse Fair signs to the school. Vale was right. That fellow could hit a golf ball a mile ~ standing on two legs, standing on one leg or sitting down. All of which prompted Dennis Conway to say there is no reason for us not to play golf. All we have to learn is how to hit a ball while sitting on a stool. How about a rocking chair? The rain stayed away just long enough to finish the performance. Then came a mad rush to the Club House where Del and his crew had prepared a ton or two of fine food. We looked forward to that evening and came away full in the tummy and happy in the heart. Missed John Busscher, but learned from his better half that he was out of state. Maybe Mrs. B. can teach him some of those shots she learned. At this writing we have the sneaky feeling that neither the Cubs nor the Sox will play in the World Series. WHOOPS! From past and present performances, there is a young ball player who should be playing every day. If not for the White Sox, he should be on first base for some team. Betcha you Cub fans would like to see Muser on first base for your team. The Sox could use Billy Williams as a designated hitter. But, nobody $sked us. When the robins in our back yard finish their main dish of worms, they descend on our 4- foot square strawberry patch for dessert. Gues they never forgave us for taking down the cherry trees. ' Wednesday night will be Joe Frett Night in Johnsburg, the second annual event. Proceeds go to some worthy organization. We heard about a fellow who went back to his college to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his graduating class. When called on to speak, he remarked that many things looked the same - same wall on the building - same tree he sat under in the moonlight and kissed a girl. He wondered if that girl might be in the audience - and if she wasn't any more ashamed of that kiss than he was - would she please stand up Thirteen gray haired women stood up.
