STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD A bright, exciting 1974 dairy banquet is anticipated this year, because the June 27 event at Woodstock Moose lodge will mark the twentieth anniversary of dairy product promotion through the McHenry County Dairy Promotion council. The banquet will start at 7 p.m. with the presentation of the seven candidates for McHenry County Dairy Princess. Lynn Tomlinson, reigning Dairy Princess, will help with the festivities as the candidates are escorted by a representative of their sponsoring organization. The candidates with sponsors include: Ellen Gardner, 17, escorted by Dave Gardner, McHenry County Young Farmers committee. Mary Patricia Killeen, 18, escorted by Allan Ainger, Northeast Illinois Production Credit association. Linda Sue Rich, 17, escorted by Ervin Walters, McHenry County Farm Bureau. Ruth Stolquist, 18, escorted by Francis Foley, Kishwaukee AMP1. Donna Sue Swanson, 18, escorted ' by George Rasmussen, Woodstock Progressives. Shelly Jean Schmidt, 17, escorted by Ed Schmidt, Wisconsin Dairies Co-op. Linda Johnson, 17, escorted by Norman Liedberg, McHenry County Health Improvement association. The candidates are prepping for judging this week with in- store appearances, radio and television interviews and other activities. Many of the former McHenry County Dairy Princesses are expected to attend * this sentimental anniversary banquet. Betty Boppart, 1965 Dairy Princess, will travel the farthest. She's just returned for vacation from her duties in Guam and will be among those welcoming the newcomers and the oldtimers. Among oldtimers will be Virgil Smith, one of the founders of the Dairy Promotion council in 1954, and Henry Edgerton. Smith and Edgerton served as secretary-treasurer in addition to their duties as executive secretary of Farm Bureau from 1954 to 1973. Women's Club In Organization Change Presidents or a representative of all the Woman's clubs in McHenry county met Wednesday morning at the home of the county treasurer, Mrs. Arnold (Eleanor) Storrs in Solon Mills, to determine the status of the County Federation as a part of the redisricting. At the recent Illinois Federation of Women's Club6 convention in Chicago, amroval was given for restricting portions of the st*te. A new 4th district was created which includes the in McHenry, Bowie and ago counties. Letters will be sent to all county clubs informing them of the change as well as to seek direction for distribution of approximately $100 remaining in the county treasury. In developing guidelines for the 4th district, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Gerlitzof McHenry will serve, on the By-Laws committee along with Mrs. Gerhard Clausius of Belvidere and Mrs. Hosso of Pecatonica. Former McHenry County President Frances Heinemann of Spring Grove had been elected to this position at die Attendants Honor Jane Freund With Bridal Shower A miscellaneous bridal shower was held recently for Miss Jane Freund at the home of Mrs. Kurt Jensen. Co- hostesses with Mrs. Jensen were Leah Rode and Jo Smith, Miss Freund's sister, who will be attendants at her wedding. Using the wedding color yellow in the decorations refreshments were served to twenty-five guests. Jane and Ken Montrose will be married July 6 at < St. Patrick's church. Bus Trip In Plans O f St. Clara Court Plans for a bus trip will be discussed when St. Clara Court, No. 659, National Catholic Society of Foresters, holds its regular meeting. Son Of Cary Couple Baptized Timothy Allen Timothy Allen Cunningham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cunningham of Cary, was baptized recently at Sts. Peter and Paul church in Cary. Godparents were Mrs. Stan Aim of McHenry and Thomas J. Heck of Chicago. Following the ceremony a barbecue was held at the home of the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Mrachek of McHenry, for twenty people. Timothy Allen, who was born April 25 at Sherman hospital, Elgin, has a brother, Chad, 2 years old. Last Monday afternoon Lynn provided a dairy treat for members of the Plaindealer staff. She arrived in the office with three gallons of milk and a huge tray of homemade cookies to serve a hungry staff. Among those to enjoy the unexpected treat are Patti Frett, left, and Kathy Winters, of the Plaindealer composing department. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Susan Vycital June 15 Bride St. Francis de Sales church in Lake Geneva, Wis., was the setting for the wedding last Saturday, June 15, of Miss Laurene Norma Susan Vycital and Mr. Michael Joseph McDonough. Father Mueller officiated at the 1 o'clock afternoon nuptial rite in a church decorated with bouquets of daisies and white roses. Special music included "Wedding Song" and "Day by Day". Miss Vycital is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold D. Vycital, Sr., of 2809 N. Spring road, McHenry. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McDonough of Lake Como, Wis. Miss Vycital was charming in a white nylon mist and alencon lace dress and a Juliet cap with veil attached. Her bouquet was of white daisies, gardenias and stephanotis. With her bouquet she carried a wedding rosary which she borrowed from her bridesmaid, Cathy Humann. The necklace she wore was a gift from the bridegroom, and she also wore a bracelet which belonged to her great- grandmother. Acting as her attendants were Marlene Unders of Ormond Beach, Fla., as maid of honor, Cathy Humann of McHenry, Dorene Ilmberger, her sister, of Northlake, 111., and Gail McDonough of Lake Como, the bridegroom's sister, as bridesmaids. The flower girl was Ellen Spalding of Alsip, 111., niece of the groom. Usherettes were Donna Humann and Mary Humann of McHenry. In the rainbow wedding, dresses were in pastel green, pink, peach, blue and orchid of dotted Swiss. They wore white picture hats with daisies and matching ribbons. Each carried a basket of daisies with old fashion flowers and rainbow-colored ribbons cascading from the baskets. Richard Chaplewski of Lake Geneva, Wis., served as best man. Groomsmen were David Puchinsky, Thomas McDonough, a brother, of Crystal Lake and Daniel Tenhagen of Burlington, Wis. Ushers were Dennis McDonough, the groom's brother, and Donald Vycital, brother of the bride. Mrs. Vycital selected a jewel tone pastel nylon gown with white accessories. She wore a corsage of gardenias and colored daisies. Mrs. McDonough wore a lime crepe gown with white accessories and similar corsage. Four generations Mr. and Mrs. William G. Kruger, Sr., were honored at a dinner party June 16 to celebrate their sixtieth wedding anniversary, the date of which was June 13. Friends, relatives and immediate family attended the joyful occasion which took place at Collin Kelly's AMVETS hall in Chicago. A wedding cake with their wedding picture adorning the top centered the table. One of the highlights of the evening occurred when family and friends presented to them a program and book of "lliis is your life, Ann and Will Kruger". Nephews and grandson William Kruger III entertained with music and band. 1* iTWVrt were present. Several out-of-town guests attended, among them their daughter Mrs. James M c K i e r n a n a n d granddaughter, Susan, from Santa Cruz, Calif., also granddaughter Patricia Poole and family who drove from Freemont, Calif., and Mrs. Kruger's brother, Edward Panknin, from Ohio who came to help celebrate the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. William Kruger, Sr., were residents of Fox Lake for over twenty-nine years and are presently living with their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. William Kruger, Jr., 7618 Carleton drive, Spring Grove. The celebrants have fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
