McHenry County Insurance Youth Golf Classic chairman Tom Low is shown presenting trophies to the following winners: First - James Hepfinger, Algonquin; second - Brian Kay, Dundee; third - Tom Hartley, Cary. These top place winners along with the following; Fourth - Bob Buss, McHenry, Fifth - John Craig, Woodstock, Sixth - James Burke, McHenry and Seventh - Bob Buenzli, McHenry, will advance to the State Insurance Youth Classic at 'the University of Illinois golf course in Savoy, Illinois and from there hopefully to the National Tournament in Cranston, Rhode Island. Although the rain and wind created poor weather conditions for the golf tournament these young men did an outstanding job. Summer YMCA Yoga Program On June 26 The Lake Region YMCA has announced plans to continue its Yoga program throughout the summer months. The course will begin on June 26, and extend until August 14 for a total of eight sessions consisting of one hour and fifteen minutes per session. The class will be held on Wednesday afternoons with beginners (Yoga I) at 12:30 p.m. and intermediate (Yoga II) at 1:45 p.m Yoga is an ancient science of bodily and mental control whose slow, rhythmic movements and simple, relaxed poses exert a beneficial influence on the major gland centers and nerve plexuses of the body. The coordinated breathing techniques and concentration aid in releasing inner tensions, thus enabling the student to attain greater peace of mind. The instructor, Jana Muench, was schooled in the traditional method of Yoga, whose aims include not only physical development, but also mental and spiritual harmony, and she has recently returned from further study in India. For more information on these classes, call the Lake Region YMCA at 459-4455.
