Youngsters have been invited, so Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Schopp of McHenry will don their clown outfits to distribute lollipops to the crowd of "Dr. Griesbach's little people." And thereby hangs a tale. . , "During the past nineteen years, Dr. Griesbach has cared for all sixty-five of our foster children, as well as three of our own," remarks Mrs. Schopp. "Dr. Griesbach has seen us through a lot, so we'll miss him very much ~ especially since our youngest is still a child. Garden Club In Annual Meet The Garden club of Whispering Oaks held its annual meeting June 18 at the Community center. During the business meeting, it elected to become affiliated with the Garden Club of Illinois. After luncheon, Mrs. Floyd Seibert and Mrs., Philip Kjellgren, both of Rockford, spoke to the club on the many educational and interesting works the State Garden club is bringing to effect. Officers for the coming year are: Mrs. James Erickson, president; Mrs. William Forbes, vice-president; Mrs. James Fouse, treasurer and Mrs. Austin Smith, secretary. club members. Mrs. Pauline Horak served as auctioneer. The next meeting of the Presidents club will be held Aug. 5 instead of the regularly scheduled date, Sept. 5. This was necessary because of the Labor day holiday. A pot-luck picnic will be held in the garden of Mrs. Roy Seitz, Cary, at 11 a.m. Each member should bring her own table service and chair. "We are asking interested families to call their local telephone chairman, including the Pink Lady office, 385-2424, or Family Nursing office, 344-0499" Hold Annual Bargains Bizarre For Children At a recent meeting, the auxiliary for the Woodstock Children's home made plans for the fourth annual Bargains Bizarre. Co-chairwomen for this mid-summer event are Mrs. John Spurr and Mrs. John Bodnar. It will be held, as in years past, at the Lakewood village hall. The dates are Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27. Unlike past years, storage space is very limited, and the auxiliary would appreciate donations being held, if possible, until the week preceding the sale. For those people needing to have their donations picked * up immediately, 385-3379. Please limit donations to easily resaleable items. The proceeds from Bargains Bizarre will go to aid children at the home in such areas as recreational outings, library facilities and redecoration.
