With the exception of some spoiled food, flooded basements, and lots of debris to clean up, there were no reports of injury or major damage in the village. Amidst all the confusion, noise and worry of the evening was the reassuring sight of Mr. and Mrs. Burg, across the street, calmly playing cards with their guests by candlelight. GIRL'S GAME CANCELED Since there have been more girls joining the league in the last week a new team is being' formed and changes being made in existing teams. Because of this complete changeover, the girl's league will play no games this Wednesday, June 26, only. Regular games will be played every Wednesday, afterward. DOG TAG CHECK Residents are advised that police officers intend to check on dog licenses,- this week. $10 tickets will be issued to the owners of any dogs who do not have current tags. There is also a $2 fine for owners, if their dog is caught running loose. HOUSE WATCH With summer here, many families will be taking vacatigns leaving their homes unoccupied. Before going on vacation, people should inform the police, as to when they are leaving, and when they plan to return. Also, any pertinent facts regarding lights left on, open doors or windows, etc. The police can then check the house, at intervals, to guard against vandalism or burglary.
