White Horse Fascinating To Local Traveler his (by Hugh Kirk, following recent trip to England) On the road between Bath, England, and ancient Stonehenge we were told that if we were very observant we might see the White Horse on the side of a distant hill on our left. Between the trees and in very short glimpses we did see something resembling a figure of a white horse. This continued for about two miles and we seemed to get closer as we traveled further and the view became very clear and distinct. It was a perfect white horse carved on the hillside. This is chalk country and someone carved this beautiful horse into the side of the hill and it is gigantic--perhaps several stories high. Who did it? No one knows. It must have been done by ancient men .long before any records were kept. I find myself thinking about Pastor To Assignment In Galena The many McHenry area friends of Father Adolph Weideman will be interested to learn that he was recently transferred to Galena, where he is the new pastor of St. Michael Catholic church. Father Weideman has been pastor at St. Monica, Carnentersville since 1969. A graduate of M.C.H.S., the McHenry priest was ordained in 1955. In 1961 he was named associate pastor of St. John the Baptist church, Johnsburg. . Coins Of Platinum Platinum coins were circulated in Russia between 1828 and 1845 The 3--, 6--, and 12-ruble coins proved impractical because the price of the rare metal fluctu ated too widely. this wonder and trying to figure out why it has not been made a closeup tourist attraction.
