I received a letter from her that she wanted to ple.ase print in OUR column. She told me she hated to be calling the authorities and hurting her neighbors, fcbut she just couldn't stand the SMOKE. The following letter was entitled "Open letter to friends and neighbors." If, 1 have stepped on anyone's toes, I'm sorry You have your rights to smoke, burn leaves or DOUBLE CELEBRATION Happy birthday July 10 to Herman Carter. Also, best wishes for a happy anniversary to Mr. Carter, and his wife, Adeline, who celebrate their t w e n t y - n i n t h w e d d i n g anniversary, that date, too. Bruce Walter is wished a happy birthday, July 14, as are Tammy Jensen, and Pat Wyman, both July 16. REMINDER \ Ladies of the Lake meeting, Thursday, July 11, 8 p.m. any other landscaping material, but us nonsmokers, senior citizens and cardiac victims have rights too. That is to enjoy country air, for which I'm sure each and everyone that lives out here from the bustle, smog and the stink of the cities left there to enjoy out here in McHenry. I do enjoy going out, playing bingo, even enjoyed the Ladies outing once a month; also would like to attend our association's meetings once a month, but I'm sorry it can't be tolerated. Doctor has simply forbidden me to go where there is smoking, so I try to stay in my home. That too has been impossible on account of people burning at night. Daytime wouldn't be so bad, windows are mostly closed to keep the heat of sun and the day out; after the sun goes down just try to open the windows to cool the house off so as to get a good night's sleep, that too has been impossible for the smoke and sometimes stench that comes through the yvindows. So like I said in the beginning if I have stepped on any toes I'm very sorry, but I too want to enjoy my few remaining days. I'll be content to stay in my house but at least don't let your smoke come into my/ house. Signed Mrs. Radlein. \ Ou. sincere sympathies to the family of Mrs. Radlein from all those who knew of her extreme willingness and great educational mind. She was an active lady who baked for the rummage sales and ladies club, attended the blood donors meetings, called for a card file of subdivision birthdays and many other ways of giving of herself to others. She was a true .385-7841 k gift to our subdivision and had expressed one of her last thoughts to our residents. God bless you Mrs. Radlein! ASSOCIATION PLANS On Saturday, July 13, community residents will have an opportunity to plan for the upcoming rummage-bake sale in July. The meeting will be held at our beach if the weather permits. Many volunteers will be needed to gather rummage, make signs, and bake fresh goods. It is a pleasant time of the year and can be even more fun if the fund-raising is successful. Your interest in the community is needed now so our subdivision improvements can materialize. New ideas and new faces are always welcome. Be aggressive and be there this Saturday at 4:30 p.m.!
