This is the young journalism student's account of that experience). It was "A Day on the Green" as 51,000 people attended an afternoon of music at the Milwaukee County stadium Sunday, July 21. People from as far north as Canada and as far south as Tennessee traveled to see the event. The entertainment for the afternoon was first brought into perspective by Jesse Collin Young Young proved to be a very congenial musician as he played a mixture of acoustic and electric guitar. J.C. Young is a rising young performer from California who is now touring with Crosby, "Stills, Nash and Young. As the afternoon progressed, the famed early 60's group, the Beach Boys, took the stage and the 51,000 'over capacity crowd) screamed as if rock and roll had been re-born. The Beach Boys played most of their top hits of the 60's such as, Surfing USA, Good Vibrations, and Barbara Ann. They slowly edged their way to the highpoint of their performance by starting out with an easy going tempo. By the end of their performance the audience was unbelievably Allan McKim VILLAGE PRESIDENT ATTEST: Karen Parks Clerk of Village of McCullom Lake, McHenry, McHenry County, Ill inois PASSED: 7-9-74 APPROVED: 7 9-74 PUBLISHED: 7-26-74 STATE OF ILLINOIS ) )SS motivated and ready for the unquestionable master minds of music; Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. It was a tense half hour wait before the famed musicians came on stage but finally they appeared and the crowd spontaneously reacted by applauding and screaming for more than five minutes. The artists, who had not been together for three years, were now together for a thirty-city tour and during this time would clear well over one million dollars. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's reason for their break-up in 1971 was a prevalent one, as it is for most rock groups, narcissism. The group never lost a moment of attention from the audience as they played most of their previous hits that they recorded together The concert came to a climax as C.S.N, and Y played some of their individual hits which they recorded separately during their break-up period It now seems possible for Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young to hold true to their statement they once made in a song: "We are one person, We are two alone, We are three together, We are for each other " PAGE »- PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY.
