Mrs. Sis McDaniels, Mrs. Dagmar Gustavesen and Mrs. Stine Nordling were judges. Shirley Dawson, Eva Freund and Edna Olson of McHenry visited Joe and Julia Freund in McHenry on Wednesday. Julia had just been released from the hospital and is doing fine and in great spirits. He is a state board member of the American Society of Medical Technologists and is a member of the United Methodist church of McHenry V Mr Wynveen's responsibility as chairman of the Aurora Area Blood Bank Blood Assurance program in McHenry county will be to coordinate all blood donor recruitment efforts in that area The Aurora Area Blood Bank supplies the complete blood needs of patients, both at McHenry hospital and Memorial Hospital for McHenry County in Woodstock. The blood assurance program is designed to enable the Aurora Area Blood Bank to maintain adequate inventories of all blood types so that when blood is needed, whether for routine surgery or for emergency cases, it will always be available! Since human blood can be stored for only a limited time, inventories are continually monitored and donor days are scheduled in advance to assure a proper balance of supply against demand. Communities and businesses participate in the blood assurance program by holding donor days where a mobile blood drawing station is set up for donors.
