REUNION A group of twenty-two people who had all gone to St Peter's school together, some fifty to sixty years ago, met in McHenry on Sunday, Aug. 18, for dinner. After dinner they gathered at the Spring Grove town hall for a talk-fest. Many anecdotes, much reminiscing, true life stories, jokes and general conversation % brought out many a laugh Everyone enjoyed it so much they plan on doing this again and include more St. Peter's School "Kids". Next October is the tentative time. GARDEN CLUB "A Mid-Summer's Dream" flower show was held by the Fox Lake Garden club, Aug 8, at the Moose Hall for members and friends. It was a great success due to the efforts of Flower Show Chairman Mrs. Laverne Pertile and Co Chairman Mrs. Kallie Ableman and all members who participated. Mrs. Sis McDaniels, Mrs. Dagmar Gustavesen and Mrs. Stine Nordling were judges. Blue ribbon winners were Mrs. Ruth Andersen, Mrs. Lil Strum, Mrs. Margery Kamin, Mrs. Mary Nordstrom and Mrs. Alice Weber (triple blue ribbon winner) Mrs. Ann Silhanek, Mrs. Angeline Klawenski, Mrs. Georgia Zerbian, Mrs. Sue Crescio and Mrs. Ann Schultz. We went to a movie at the library and had a cook-out with Julie and Sandy Sutton as their guests. They enjoyed it I'm sure, I know I did. Shirley Dawson, Eva Freund and Edna Olson of McHenry visited Joe and Julia Freund in McHenry on Wednesday. Julia had just been released from the hospital and is doing fine and in great spirits. Name Wynveen County Blood Assurance Head Cal Wynveen, M.T., A.S C.P., has been anmed McHenry county chairman of the Aurora Area Blood Bank blood assurance program Mr. Wynveen has been with McHenry hsopital for seven years and is presently supervisor of laboratory services there. He graduated from Lakeland college in Sheboygan, Wis., and was trained at Columbia hospital in Milwaukee. He is a state board member of the American Society of Medical Technologists and is a member of the United Methodist church of McHenry V Mr Wynveen's responsibility as chairman of the Aurora Area Blood Bank Blood Assurance program in McHenry county will be to coordinate all blood donor recruitment efforts in that area The Aurora Area Blood Bank supplies the complete blood needs of patients, both at McHenry hospital and Memorial Hospital for McHenry County in Woodstock. The blood assurance program is designed to enable the Aurora Area Blood Bank to maintain adequate inventories of all blood types so that when blood is needed, whether for routine surgery or for emergency cases, it will always be available! Since human blood can be stored for only a limited time, inventories are continually monitored and donor days are scheduled in advance to assure a proper balance of supply against demand. Communities and businesses participate in the blood assurance program by holding donor days where a mobile blood drawing station is set up for donors. Individuals can participate at many local hospitals or at the blood bank located in Aurora Under this program, individuals and members of their families are assured that if they need blood it will be available and that the units used by patients will be replaced by the Aurora Area Blood Bank.
