BIRTHDAY GREETINGS Happy seventh birthday to Scotty Burrows, son of Audrey and Tom Burrows, on Sept. 8. Happy eighth birthday to Stevie Stilling, son of Pat and Roger Stilling on Sept. 8. Happy eighth birthday to Kip Miller, son of Sonia and Earl Miller, on Sept. 8 Happy eleventh birthday to Kevin Goulet, son of Sharon and Larry Goulet, on Sept 10. Man, kids, I hope your birthdays are tough! PEANUT BUTTER n A n OATC I v>n A vivv/ A u . For years, I've been trying to get my kids to eat cooked carrots. Finally, this magazine came along with a recipe for peanut butter carrots. Hallelujah! I thought, this they • have to like! Painstakingly, I thawed and mixed the one cup of orange juice called for. I scraped the bottom of the peanut butter jar to make two tablespoons. Proudly, I served my dish to the waiting, hungry crew. We left the table with five empty plates, with the exception of five helpings of peanut butter carrots. Like my son Tom said, "Mom, peanut butter carrots just don't go" WONDER WOODS WOMAN'S AUXILIARY The Wonder Woods Woman's Auxiliary held its monthly meeting on Thursday evening, Aug. 22, at the eastside firehouse. The most important business of the evening was the election of officers for the coming year. Jean Clause was reelected as president, with Catherine Wurm as the new vice-president. Candace McNulty isn't able to continue as secretary, due to other commitments, so June Toepper was elected to fill that office, Stella Lojkovic continues as treasurer for another year. The auxiliary is planning a Founder's Day dinner sometime in September for the members, as it will be 5 years that they have been organized. The past year has been a very good year, as the auxiliary accomplished a great deal. They donated a goodly sum toward the road fund, snow plowing, and one other large 728 0267 project they worked very hard for was the new redwood sign at the entrance of Wonder Woods, which is now free and clear, thanks to the many friends in Wonder Woods who so graciously donated bakery and monetary gifts toward the bake sale held in July. Another project that is being planned tentatively for October is a flea market and rummage sale to be held around Hilltop Grocery, which will be open to anyone who wishes to have space. There will be a small rental charge for the space only, all proceeds of his or her sales to be kept by the owner. Watch for further dates on these events.
