Lakeland Park Anne Moore 385-6448 Scribe, Children Enjoy Vacation With Relatives No, I didn't quit writing the column, but yes 1 did enjoy a two week change of scenery with our children while my husband was at Camp McCoy, Wis., for two weeks with the National Guard. The children and I spent the two weeks that Steve was away visiting with both sets of grandparents and with friends in Chicago. We had a fun time visiting zoos, kiddielands and playgrounds while we were in Chicago but it is always good to return home! SCHOOL IS UNDERWAY! School is underway for yet another year and it's time to caution all drivers and students to be careful. Parents should also remind their children that the bus stops are no place to fool around and that care should be taken to assure their safety when going to and from school each day. Let's have a safe and happy school year and prevent any unnecessary tragedies before they have a chance to happen! THREE PARTIES FORJAY! August was indeed an exciting month for three-year old Jay Gacek as he was able to celebrate his birthday on three separate occasions with three very special parties. Aug. 11 was actually his birthday and he enjoyed a quiet celebration with his dad and mom, John and Sharon, and baby sister, Antoinette. Little Linda Walinski joined the Gaceks for cake and ice cream and she and Jay had lots of fun. Sunday, Aug. 18, John and Sharon were the host and hostess at their home when several relatives and friends gathred to sing happy birthday to Jay. Guests included grandparents Ed and Dorothy Kurowski and Bob and Irene DeSilva as well as Aunt Donna DeSilva; Aunt Nora DeSilva; Uncle Dennis and Aunt Bernice Kurowski; Uncle Smitty Mydlowski; Uncle Richard Mydlowski; Adrianne Mydlowski, Carl and Linda Karlquist; Carol, Phil and baby Philip Falcone; Len and Jerry Stutz and their daughters, Tracy, Kelly and Cindy; Jackie Mydlowski and her daughter, Danielle; and Ed and Anna Puchalski and their daughter, Vanessa. Everyone had a marvelous time and Jay received many many lovely presents. Thursday, Aug. 29, Jay's third birthday party celebration was held in his backyard and his little friends Linda Walinski, Randy Tollifson, Jay Arthurs, Rae Ann Kryc, Davie Gende, and Kevin, Brian and Suzanne Moore had a fun time helping Jay celebrate. Mary Jo Kryc, Vicky Kopsell and I were also there to give Sharon a hand keeping the kids happy, and we also enjoyed the fun afternoon, the luncheon Sharon served and the birthday cake and goodies. Am sure Jay won't soon forget his third birthday what with all the celebrating, all the new toys and lovely clothing he received! Am also sure dad and mom won't soon forget his third birthday either! Anyway, at least we know Jay had a very happy birthday this year! CONGRATULATIONS! Wedding bells will ring later this month at Wildwood Presbyterian church when Frederick J. Farther out, big boys race and tear in noisy games of tag. Fathers show their children how to swim, while mothers smile encouragement. Lovers nestle close on striped blankets, and grandmas nod sleepily under big-brimmed hats. The day is good, a day of sand and sea and clear blue sky. Then a whistle shrieks, and laughter stills as life guards work to save a life. Dread hovers, and even when the child is safe within his mother's arms, for some the day is tarnished. It's easy to be gay on picnic days. But, when tragedy comes close and fears clamor, life's happiness is a temporary thing. Where can you find confidence? Your church has the answer. It is the abiding place of God. Within its fellowship through prayer and worship, you can learn that God is the center of your life and that His goodness never wavers. _Scriptures Selected By The American Bible Society Copyright 1974 Keister Advertising Service, Inc., Strasburg, Virginia SERVICES Mount Hope Church t tilted Methodist 1(115 W Broadway Pistakee Highlands Kev.
