Any person accused of a violation of this Article may pay the claim against him for such illegal parking by paying to the City the sum set forth opposite the violation with whicn he has been charged, as follows: 1. Overparked, Parking Meter (if paid within 48 hours after Notice issued) $ .50 2. Overparked, (One) (Two) Hour Zone $2.00 3. Double Parked $2.00 4. Bus Stop or Loading Zone $2.00 5. Parked at Fire Plug $2.00 6. Blocking Driveway $2.00 7. Parked in Violation of Sign or Zone 8. Improper Parking $2.00 $2.00 9. Parked, 2:00 A. to 6:00 A.M. $2.00 10. All Others $2.00 If the aforesaid Parking Meter violation is paid after the aforesaid 48 hours but within 5 days after said notice was issued, the offender may settle the claim against him by paying the City the sum of $3.00. Notice of said violation shall be given to offenders under this Article by placing a violation ticket under the windshield wiper of the offending vehicle, or by personally handing the violation ticket to the operator of the vehicle, or by affixing it to the door handle of the vehicle Section 2. Chapter 12 of the Municipal Code of the City of McHenry be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following Article XVIII: ARTICLE XVIII SWINGS, MERRY-GO- ROUNDS JUNGLE JIMS, MONKEY BARS AND SIMILAR STRUCTURAL PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT 1. NUISANCE. The maintaining and keeping of swings ; merry-go-rounds, jungle jims, monkey bars and similar structural playground equipment within 8 feet from any adjoining property or boundary line is hereby declared to be a nuisance. 2. PENALTY. Any person owning, leasing occupying or having charge of any premises, who allows the aforesaid nuisance to exist thereon, shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than Ten Dollars nor more than Five-Hundred Dollars for each offense. Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as by law required. PASSED this 3rd day of September 1974. Sept. 6,1974) McHenry County Manpo\ (CETA) Program, Prime Sponsors of the Comprehensive Training Act of 1973 in McHenry County, a federal government program for fiscal year 1975, proposes to implement this Act (P L. 93-203 Stat. 839) in McHenry County. The Act's intent is to provide job training and employment opportunities for economically disadvantaged, unemployed, and underemployed persons. In May of 1974, McHenry County government submitted a Notice of Intent to apply for prime sponsorship to tne appropriate Assistant Regional Director for Manpower. On June 1, 1974, a comprehensive manpower plan covering the area to be served, and the services to be provided, as well as, assurances that programs will be administered properly and will reach those most in need of them were sent to the Department of Labor. A Manpower Council has been established in accordance with regulations specified by the Act. Representatives of community-based organ­ izations and private business were solicited for their support of the program. The McHenry County Manpower (CETA) plan will include: On- the-job training, work experience, job placement, a summer program for disadvantaged youth, classroom training, Public Service Employment, and an Occupational Survey. Listed below is a project cost operating budget. Classroom training $34,400, On-the-Job training 74,400, Public Service Employment 67,900, Work experience 49,200, Service to client 8,100, Other Activities - Occupational Survey 17,200; Total $251,200. Summer Program, 1975 $42,600: Grand Total - $293,800. There was the best attendance of any of the summer meetings. At a special meeting held by the Guardian council, Miss Cynthia Feller was voted into membership. She will be initiated Sept. 12. All girls 12 years or older with Masonic affiliation who are interested in joining may call Betty Zamastil for information at 675-2435. All meetings are held in the hall of Acacia on Court street in McHenry. They begin at 7 p.m. every second and fourth Thursday. Any interested adults with Masonic relationship are invited to attend these meetings. There will be a bake sale for the Grand Guardians charity project, Bonds-for-Braces, at the McHenry State Bank Saturday, Sept. 7. There will also be the popcorn the girls are selling as one of the fund raising projects available at this time.
