John Metzger Is Married In New Jersey Sacred Heart church, Mount Holly, New Jersey, was the setting for a beautiful, late summer wedding solemnized last Saturday, Sept 14 Miss Candacie Lee Manecio and Mr. John Stephen Metzger were united in marriage in a 12 o'clock nuptial Mass offered by Father Mikoz. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Manecio of Mount Holly, New Jersey, Her husband, who resides in Boston, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Metzger of McHenry Soloist for the ceremony was Linda Thomas, a family friend, who sang selections chosen by the bride and groom. Miss Manecio wore a long sleeved, silk wedding gown with fingertip veil trimmed in lace. Attending her were Carol Frake, maid of honor; Judy T u b d r t r i n i , M a r t h a B a u m g a r t n e r , K a t h y Schwalber and Maria Metzger, the latter a sister of the groom. The attendants wore rainbow colors of lime, yellow, pink and blue dresses and carried hand bouquets of baby roses and chrysanthemums matching their gowns. Bill Herkes of McHenry served as best man. Groomsmen were Craig Schatzlein, Kevin McBrien, Mike Cary of McHenry and Wayne Smith. Paul Metzger, brother of the groom was the ring bearer. Mrs. Manecio selected a long gown of apricot color, trimmed with white daisies. Mrs. Metzger wore a long sleeved, flowered chiffon gown. The bridegroom is a student at Northeastern university, Boston, in which area his bride is employed as a secretary for a bank. Mr. Metzger's family and godmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Bradatsch, drove East for the wedding, as did neighbors, the Edwin Lehman family. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bauer flew in from Milwaukee, Wis., and Bill Herkes and Mike Carey from South Bend, Ind. The appointment of Miss Karen Eckstein, R.N., M.S., as an assistant director of nursing services at McHenry hospital has been announced by Miss Victoria Behan, R.N., M.S., assistant administrator, inpatient and educational nursing service division. "Miss plckstine's role as a consultant and clinician is primarily teaching and advisory rather than supervisory," Miss Behan announced. "Miss Eckstein has received her master's degree in the science of nursing, becoming a clinical specialistswbo Will be a valuable resource to our nursing and anQrfrary personnel." After earning her Bachelor's Noted New York theatre director, Kenneth Frankel, who directed last November's Woodstock Opera House benefit production of "The Typist^" and "Tne Tigerwill return to McHenry county Sept. 22 for two weeks of work in the community as guest affiliate artist. According to Mrs. John Schultz, affiliate artist coordinator for the Woodstock Fine Arts association, Frankel's visit is a first "This is the first time a professional stage director has been invited to visit a community as an affiliate artist, and we hope it may lead to a new extension of the national Affiliate Artist program," she said. In a departure from the regular Affiliate Artist program, which brings actress Niki Flacks to McHenry county for eight weeks of performing activity each year, Mr. Frankel's visit will focus on a series of workshops and seminars, open free of charge to the public, on directing, stage managing, and current theatre philosophy. He will also work with students of Woodstock and McHenry high schools, in drama classes and degree from the University of Illinois College of Nursing, Miss Eckstein joined the nursing staff of Evanston hospital. While there, she was appointed by the State of Illinois' Bureau of Emergency Medical Service and Highway Safety, to teach the EMS certification course for trauma nurse specialists. In September 1973, she entered Rush university's College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences and received her graduate degree in August, 1974. "Miss Eckstein is known throughout the state for her successful direction of the Trauma Nurse Specialist program," said Anthony Corcoran, executive director of McHenry hospital. "We are happy to welcome her to our nursing staff." on stage; and will participate in the in-school "Encounter With The Theatre" program, coordinated by Esther Wanieck of the WFAA. Mr. Frankel will also be working with various theatre organizations in the county. Kenneth Frankel, an Ohio native, is a 1963 graduate of Northwestern university. He served as a Ford Foundation administrative intern at Arena Stage in Washington, and as a McKnight Fellow in Directing at the Guthrie theatre, Minneapolis. There he was assistant director under Sir Tyrone Guthrie for "Richard III" and "The Cherry Orchard", and he made his Broadway debut as Dr Guthrie's assistant director for "Dinner at Eight." This fall, Frankel begins a teaching and directing project with the Circle-in-the-Square Theatre company, New York; MARRIAGE LICENSES Michael R. Wieczarek, 1902 W. Route 120, McHenry, for the past three months. During that time, he allegedly had taken about $200 from the cash register and a radio from a camper. As a result, he was arrested on two counts of theft with bond set at $6,000. He is to appear in court Sept. 26.
