We stopped in Cody for lunch and bought a couple of new beaded ties, one red, one blue, on which we continue to get compliments. Fine Indian work it is too! Our first joy in the park was Yellowstone lake. There it stands amid its fields and mountain background just as it used to be. No summer homes mar its shores, no boat was on its surface. It is just as it was long, long ago and this goes for the rest of the lakes in the park. Then we went to the falls of the Yellowstone. It was a Jong way but the roads are pretty good after a hard summer of use - hordes of people visit here. Things Ret used roughly- so many people can't help but wear places. The falls are eye filling. They are one of the beauty places of the world. Their fame is widespread. There they pour down, the waters of the Yellowstone river as they have for years. They are more photographed than any falls in America save Niagara. I suppose. All along through the parks as we drove we could see the steaming guysers. There are not many places in the world where they are found: Yellowstone Park, the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes in Alaska, the Kamchatka peninsula, which forms the eastern shore of the Sea of Okhotsk opposite Alaska, New Zealand, that's about all. We got to the Old Faithful Inn and registered for our room. The second time he seemed to do better He didn't act so ill at his stomach as he did the first time and at last he shot a fine plume of water steam plus fitting rumblings and hissings. Everybody took pictures. The Inri sold more film; we all subsided along with Old Faithful. The dining room? It was there crammed full. The| college kids ran panting wiUt t huge trays of food. You waited to get in. You waited to pay to get out. The food was about like a mediocre boarding house, edible but nothing to write up for the Plaindealer. Let us to bed!
