The candidate nominations were held at last month's meeting and a deadline of Sept 28 was set for additional names to be submitted. Those interested residents who would like to exercise their voting powers must have their 1974 dues paid in full. The meeting will be at our beach if weather permits or at the Mohlman's residence, 5412 Orchardway. Decision making time is now and those who have had complaints about the organization of our community also had ample opportunity to become a working part of the Association. Any future happenings or events can be attributed to the small minority of cooperative persons and those who did not come forward to express their desire for chahge should be content with their own lack of community interest. In my words, interest is not complaint, but a strong desire to make something better. Please attend Oct. 12 to vote for the nominated candidates as everyone is welcome! Rte. 120 McHenry 385-0048 was held at the home of Stacy Russel! who is a member of the Pi Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi This is a charitable organization that donates their time and efforts to various needy causes. This year the chapter bought table space from the Holiday Hills Women's Club for the sale of their handicraft at the annual Christmas bazaar to be held at St. Patrick's hall on Nov 23. The Pi Alpha women will give their proceeds to the McHenry County Heart Fund since one of their sorority sisters died last year from the disease. Many other organizations will be presenting their handicraft at this time and residents can buy beautiful homemade articles as well as contribute to the fund- raising event. BEAUTIFUL COLORS Fall is here in our subdivision with the many trees turning yellow orange. It is a beautiful atmosphere to be enjoyed by our residents as well as our visitors. We are indeed lucky to have the many plants and bushes in our area because there are subdivisions looking very barren now. Help to keep your yard's appearance enjoyable to passers-by and let fall be the most beautiful time of the year for us all. PERSONALS Many birthday wishes were had by Dan Russell, Sr., last Friday, Sept. 27, with surprise presents from his four boys and a lovely dinner out with his wife Rose Ternberg clebrates her birthday on Sept. 29 with lots of happiness and joy. Hope all the "shut-ins" in our community are doing much better and we send them all a bouquet of get-well wishes. Our children will be home on Oct. 14 which is Columbus Day.
