She will be collecting fact and data for the anniversary of the Plaindealer which will be 100 years of age in 1975 MEETINGS CUT One of the issues discussed at the village meeting last Thursday, was only holding one meeting a month As a rule the second one is dispensed with due to the holidays in November and December Since Lakemoor has con tractual police service and there is much less business to be taken of, and it was put to a vote to dispense with all the second meetings of each month TRICK OK TREAT Hours have been set for the masqueraders to go out trick or treating, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. By 7 o'clock it is beginning to get rather dark so BE CAREFUL whether you are out in costume or if you are driving GHOST AND GOBLIN TIME Parents of Youth is having a Halloween Party for all the voune people in Lakemoor on Thursday. Oct 31. from 7 p.m to 9:30 p.m. at the village hall Everyone should come in costume and a costume judging will be held at 7:30 with prizes for the most original, funniest and scariest. There will also be a pumpkin contest with prizes given for the most original and the funniest carved pumpkin Parents who want to ac­ company their small children are more than welcome Several games are planned, and Parents for Youth will provide refreshments and "goodies ". NEW ORGANIZATION A group of Lakemoor homeowners is interested in starting a community-minded Homeowners Association. The group is primarily concerned with maintaining and protecting homes and property, and general community im­ provement Anyone interested in joining the Association can call George and Edna Garbacz at 385-2744; Tom and Sue Reese at 385-7859; or John and Diane Madenis at 344-0667. ASSOCIATION NEWS A newsletter will be out for everyone in Lilymoor very soon. It will let every resident know how the Association stands financially and what our future holds for us as residents. Please watch for it and above all make sure you read it - it is very important to all of us. The lettering of the street signs was also discussed, another issue was regarding the Lilymoor residents that live on Lily Lake road and those living on Route 120, and the summer (or roads only) residents WELCOME MAT IS OUT To the newcomers in Lilymoor, we say welcome Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lenell and their eight week old baby have moved into 320 N. Glenwood avenue (the former Tieman house). Those who were in attendance at the Association meeting, met and talked to the Lenells. BIRTHDAYS We have nine people in the area who have something in common, and that is their birlhdavs On Oct. 18 Jim Hager will add another year, and on the twenty-first Roberta (Bobbiei Hueckstaedt will blow out the candles on her cake, as will Jerry Bolda on the twenty- second, Viola Arbogast and Randy (Peanuts) Colberg share the twenty-sixth, on the twenty-eighth Darlene Van Gleave will be every bit of 3 years old, and finishing the month of October we have two Lasses celebrating, they are Brian and Kathy Lass who share the thirtieth A very happy birthday to all of you ANNIVERSARIES Three couples will have cause to celebrate one more year of married life, they are Theron <C'v > and Ruth Young on the twenty second. Herman and Emma Kunz on the twenty- third. and Pete and Connie O'Rourke on the twenty-fifth May each couple find as much happiness in the future as they have had in the past ^ * ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION The past year just flew by for Jim and Dotti Mentzer who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sept. 29. with a sighseeing trip around Chicago where they both grew up The house that Jim's grandfather built in the late 189<)'s was found to have given way to progress, and was torn down this past summer. After gallivanting around the Lincoln Park Zoo for a couple of hours, the happy couple had an enjoyable dinner on Chicago's north side. Then a leisure drive home and some wedding cake from the freezer. BoBo also had some cake, and barked his appreciation. One down and forty-nine to go ' BIRTHDAY PARTY Even though Scott Meyers' birthday was on the fourth, a party was held in his honor on the fifth. Those helping him celebrate were Uncle Donald. Aunt Peggy, and cousins Julie. Janie. Tommy, and Jeff Meyers of Cary. . HOSPITAL NOTES Ten years seem like a long time to all of us when we have our health, but to Joe Ernest who has been in and out of hospitals for surgery each time off and on for ten years following an auto accident, it must seem a hundred years. Here's hoping he will soon be well enough that further surgery is out of the question Joe is Ruth Freeman's brother For those of you who know him, why not send him a get-well card He is a patient in Wesley Memorial Hospital. Chicago, I am sure he would enjoy any cards that are sent to him. Paula Parker Earns Degree At Lake Forest Paula C. Parker, of 4108 E Lake Shore drive. Wonder Lake, has been awarded her Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Forest college The degree was conferred after approval by the board of trustees of the college. Paula is the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Robert Parker, Wonder Lake.
