This month the meeting will be held at our Community House, 1717 N. Sunset Drive, and it will begin at 8 p.m. • New club members are always welcome and anyone interested in keeping our lake and area beautiful should plan to attend these meetings. BOARD MEETING The Lakeland Park Property Owners Association board members met at the Com munity House last Thursday evening. All association members are reminded that the board members meet once each month to serve residents. These meetings are always open to members of the association and it's the time to register complaints, criticisms or praise to those people we've elected to represent us as the officers of our home owners association. The December board meeting has been changed and will be held WEDNESDAY, Dec. 4 at the meeting room at city hall. A reminder to those of you who pay your association dues twice a year: the second in stallment is due by Nov. 30, or a delinquency fine will be charged. Remittances should be sent to our clerk, Mrs. Helen Strandquist, 5119 W. Shore Drive. Any changes in ownership of property in our community should also be made known to Mrs. Strandquist to enable her to keep our association records correct and up to date. PLAN CHRISTMAS PARTY The Lakeland Park Women's Club members met last week and had a most enjoyable af ternoon. The November meeting was very special in that all the ladies took part in and enjoyed a delicious pot- luck luncheon. Plans were finalized for the ladies annual Christmas party which, this year will be held at Martinetti's restaurant on Thursday evening, Dec. 5. I heard that even Santa Claus will be there and it promises to be a fun night for everyone who attends. Do phone Mrs. Lyda Radisch for further information. Her telephone number is 385-2754. ONE CANDLE! Pretty Richelle Mercure was the center of attention at her home Sunday, Nov. 3. That's the day Richelle turned one- year-old. Her mom and dad, Marge and Rich, held a party in her honor and Renee, Robvn and Rick enjoyed all the fun at their home almost as much as the birthday girl! Guests included Grandma Mercure and Butch; Grandma and Grandpa Parisi, Bob and Mary Ann Cholews and Debbie and Sandy; Stan and Rose Slonina and Karen (and her friend Bill), Judy and Mar; Joe Parisi and his sons, Joey, Steve and Tony, Pete and Bonnie Parisi and their children, Dawn, Dean, Dave and Derrick; Maurie and Carol Ketchum and their sons Mark, Matt and Mitch; Rich and Delores Sokolowski and JTom; and, Don and Cathy Mercure and Noel and David. Pretty little Richelle received many lovely gifts and everyone enjoyed the delicious food Rich and Marge served. And, it was indeed a fun first birthday party for little Richelle Kristi! WELCOME NEIGHBORS! Ralph and Gertrude Worth have moved into their new home on Shorehill Drive along with their son, Richard. The Worths, formerly from Broadview, are the parents of Lakeland Park resident Jerry Worth. Jerry and his wife, Elaine, and their daughters, Stephanie and Jennifer, are happy to have them living here and we welcome the new Worth family to Lakeland Park. RECYCLING TIME! Tomorrow is the third Saturday of the month and by now most of us realize what that means! Recycling day! The drive will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Market Place. Newspapers, magazines and cardboard should be bundled and tied and can be dropped off until 5 p.m. Glass and cans are collected until noon. Let's all do the little bit we can to help this ecology drive. Marian High Will Present Play Nov. 16-17 Marian Central Catholic high school will present Joseph Kesselring's "Arsenic and Old Lace" at Marian on the weekend of Nov. 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. "Arsenic and Old Lace" has been popular with audiences all over the world because of its universal appeal and, because of the few stage props on the set, the audience attention is focused on the actor and the character he represents. The action of the play takes place in the Brewster home in Brooklyn in 1941 and the entire three acts are concentrated in a period from a late afternoon to early the next morning. The two residents of the Brewster home are Abby and Martha Brewster, sixty-year-old sisters who are frequently visited by their young nephew, Mortimer. Mortimer, played by a veteran of the Marian stage, Jim Harrison, is one of the Brewster sisters' three SIX CANDLES! A special football cake and delicious ice cream was served to eighteen appreciative youngsters Monday at the Toussaint residence on Lakewood Avenue. The oc casion was Mike's sixth bir thday which was actually Wednesday, Nov. 13. Mike's mother, Carol, and his two- year-old brother, Eric, were pleased that so many of his friends were able to join him on their holiday from school to celebrate his very special day. The youngsters who had fun at Mike's birthday party and who enjoyed themselves were: Robbie Weir, Debbie Stephens, Stephanie Worth, Patty Treadwell, Kelly Frantz, Robbie Heaver, David Dorn- busch, Johnny DiVita, Jennifer Jobst, Keith McGrath, Larry Russell, Joe Raycraft, Joe Sullivan, Peter Jewell, Debbie Lauer and Michelle May. Wednesday evening Mike's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Toussaint, his god mother, Cherise Freund, and her husband, Dale, were there to help him blow out the candles on another birthday cake.
