Vogel Memorial fund, established at Sherman hospital last July in memory of the Wonder Lake educator who died of leukemia, was recipient of an additional $2,500 proceeds from a benefit dance sponsored by friends and associates of the former regional 'coordinator of education. The money generated by the fund will be used for research into many unanswered questions concerning leukemia, and according to hematologist Wilson H. Hartz, Jr., MD, "I see a possibility in the future of Sherman hospital becoming a center of chemotherapy for the area with a Barbara Vogel department for treatment of leukemia patients." Prior to her death of acute myloblastic leukemia, Miss Vogel expressed a desire to help others who were victims of blood cancer. This led to the creation of the memorial fund which is nearing $7,000, with all proceeds dedicated to research. Marie Socha, Elivin Powlison Exchange Vows Mrs. Marie Socha of 2011 W.
