Lakeland Park. Anne Moore £85-6448 Thanksgiving Wishes Extended By Columnist Next Thursday is Thanksgiving Day. It's the day set aside in the United States to give thanks to God for the blessings we have. It's also the day so many families and friends get together to show genuine appreciation for each other. ' It is my wish that all residents of our community will have a very happy Thanksgiving Day! MORE IMPROVEMENTS TO COME! Alderman Laverne Hromec told me that at the city council meeting she raised a proposal that the council consider a recommendation that a sidewalk be installed along route 120 to connect our sub division with the city and that a road be installed that would provide access to the sub division on the east end. Mrs. Hromec stressed that support from citizens would be most valuable. GET-WELL WISHES! Cheery get-well wishes are extended to Mrs. Jean Gagnon who underwent surgery at McHenry Hospital Tuesday. I'm sure her many friends join me in wishing Jean a very speedy recovery and we know her husband, Joe, will be happy to have her home again! EIGHT CANDLES! Pretty Kelly Fandre was the guest of honor at her home Sunday and enjoyed the af ternoon with her dad and mom, Bill and Carol, and her brothers Billy and Timmy. The family was surprised and pleased that grandparents Bill and Gert Fandre drove out from Chicago for a visit. Kelly enjoyed blowing out the eight candles atop her special birthday cake and her brothers were happy to share her fun and her birthday cake!! We hope you'll have many, many more happy birthdays Kelly! DOGS ARE PESTY AGAIN! It has been brought to my attention that once again loose dogs are creating many problems for residents. Guess some folks are kept inside due to the cold weather and don't secure their pets properly. Garbage cans are being knocked over and garbage scattered around yards. And, moms are worried about their children playing in their own yards who suddenly get a surprise visit from a strange dog! Please be sure your dog is secured properly. Check their chains or check for any openings in your fence where they may be sneaking out. There is a fine for dogs running loose, let alone the con sequences following any per sonal harm done by your pet. All dog owners are asked to cooperate in keeping their pets under proper supervision to help keep our community safe! SECOND HEARING SET Have been told that the second hearing date, a result of the lawsuit brought about against Ladd as former owners of our water system, has been set. Friday, Dec. 6, is the day and the time is set for 9:15 a.m. The place is City Hall. It is hopeful the Pollution Control Board will inform us of the ruling as a result of the first hearing. A BUSY WEEKEND Once again the Gacek family had a busy and fun-filled weekend. Saturday night they were guests at the Wonder •Lake home of Zig and Bonnie Stutz. Sunday, the Gaceks drove into Chicago where they at tended the first birthday party honoring Vanessa Puchalski. Vanessa's parents, Eddy and Anna, entertained ap proximately forty guests in their home and needless to say, the baby received many lovely birthday gifts. John, Sharon, Jay and Antoinette had a fun afternoon and were happy they were on hand to share pretty Vanessa's excitement on her first birthday. While on the way home, John and Sharon stopped at the home of Len and Gerry Stutz in West Chicago. They enjoyed their visit and Jay and Antoinette had fun seeing and playing with Kelly, Tracy and Cindy. Am sure the Gaceks had fun but were happy to have a quiet Monday morning arrive! BELATED WISHES RICK! Three-year-old Rick Glos was guest of honor at his home Nov. 9 when he celebrated his third J- birthday. Grandparents Ron and Joyce Braun and their children Cindy, Gregg and Andy were there to share Rick's fun. Rick's dad and mom, Rick and Gayle, were also happy that his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Glos were there to join the party fun as was Uncle Chip. Rick's five-month-old brother, Brian, enjoyed all the ex citement at his home almost as much as the birthday boy! Belated wishes to little Rick Glos! MORE CELEBRATIONS! The Braun family celebrated two other birthdays this month. Andy turned three-years-old Nov. 14 and his big brother Gregg celebrated his special day Wednesday, Nov. 20. The celebrations were shared by other family members and everyone had fun seeing to it that Andy and Gregg had very special happy birthdays this year. HAVE A SAFE HOLIDAY! Let's all remember to be extra safe and careful driving, especially while the children are home for their Thanksgiving celebration. The kids are so bundled up these cold days and drivers should always be watchful, but especially when there are not Schedule Educational Events At Farm Bureau PAGE 5 • PLAINDEALER-FRIDAY, NOVEMBER IS, t*74 "If it wasn't for regular service at JERRY'S that car wouldn't be running anymore." ^ lERRY'S "66" lUTO REPAIR 4 / ld W.
